  • Working day 42.... exactly two months since we applied now. I don't reckon we will hear back until next week even though they just have one document to review

Not sure if you're direct or broker but surely able to escalate now given the time passed? If not already. I was advised mine had been escalated last week when they messed up counting my deposit but there's no way of really knowing I suppose.

We went direct, as we are porting our mortgage we had to do it over the phone with them but they have been awful. We requested a call this Wednesday last Wednesday and still not had a response so I've followed it up this morning to try and speak to someone more senior and got an out of office. Thankfully I have a few different email addresses now so I should get a response from someone.

They requested the memorandum of sale again - this was sent at the beginning of September to them, as they don't agree that we have sold our house for what we have.

They also wanted proof of a debt being repaid even though we advised on 12th August it had been repaid on 1 August and we asked numerous times if they wanted evidence of this and they didn't.
  • Oh my!! arrggghhhhh with 40 minutes to go till 5 and nothing!! Not a single word. I have never wanted a txt off someone so badly before. This is ridiculous!

Got a call from our broker this morning, I was convinced it was going to be bad news but he said they just wanted my partners most recent bank statement (due to the time that has lapsed since applying) and they want a proper PDF savings account statement showing when my inheritance was paid into my account and what the current balance is.
He said that’s all they’ve asked for and the only actual query they had is why my partners payslips show his old address.
He did change it with work but they haven’t updated it, which he said he’ll explain and won’t be an issue.

I’m clinging onto the hope that it’s going to be good news if that’s all they’ve asked for and they’ve queried nothing else! 😬

You are miles ahead of me.. I applied on the 1st September through broker and haven’t even had confirmation of valuation being booked... what is your LTV?

01/09 - confirmation of application being received
11/09 - Alert from Clear Score of hard check being carried out
25/09 - Spoke with Nationwide via 'web chat' box on their website and they confirmed our documents hadn't been reviewed yet
27/10 - request for payslips (even though they were provided to our broker at the beginning of the application)
31/10 - Mortgage appointment with Barclays to explore Springboard mortgage options
