Looking like another week without an offer. You'd think for the sake of just looking at one document they'd get that through. Even just to get there own timescales down. Roll on day 32, cant believe im even saying that. I know theres worse in this forum than me but 6/7 weeks for an offer. Is a joke we've worked throughout and in stable jobs you'd think it would be staright forward. Some people applying after us and getting offers beforehand.
Tell me about it.... today was working day 41 and we are still waiting. What makes it worse is out of the two documents they have requested from us, one of them was sent back at the beginning of September to them!

Will never be using them again.

Its ridiculous, i appreciate that theyve been inundated with applications and staff working from home ect. But there appears to be no clear process for an application. You'd think they would review those documents and get you out of there, rather than start looking at a brand new application. There appears no logic. When we first applied i think it was around 22 working days for an offer and i was hoping we would be in by the end of October, i doubt that will happen now.

When I saw you had posted I was really hoping it was going to be good news this time 😭 I've still got everything crossed for you.
  • No answer yet. MA said Monday the latest for nationwide it's been a long few months which they have seeming dragged out and I still can't for the life of me figure out why. They recieved the bank statements on day dot, still can't fathom why if they had a problem with the deposit they didn't mention it right at the start would have saved a lot of time and worry! But fingers crossed they accept it. the meantime had email off Halifax they  have received the mortgage application just wish this would be over now

Does anyone know the timescales for the application going to the underwriter?

I know it’s nowhere near as long as some people, but on Monday that’ll be the start of week 4 since our broker submitted the full application.
We’ve heard nothing about the valuation yet so I’m hoping that it’s being looked at now.
I know some people are having valuations done first but we’ve gone for the 90% LTV FTB mortgage so I’m presuming they’ll do the underwriting first.

I know they’re swamped but how on earth does it take 8 weeks?? I’m absolutely baffled by that!

I really hope you get your mortgage soon!

Me too. I would not recommend nationwide to anyone. I understand that we are in unprecedented times, but the waiting times are crazy. We submitted our application, within the week the valuation was done, the hard search was then done, then nothing, then request for more info/ clarification on deposit source, nothing again, then clarification of deposit source was requested again! Still waiting for a yes or no. Aftt advice from MA, Application went in to Halifax Thursday, Friday had message to say it was received and the hard search has already shown up on credit score, then the £200 valuation fee was been taken. Fingers are all cross just not excited now. Hope you hear soon 👍

You must be at the end of your tether!
I really do hope this all goes well for you and you get your mortgage 😊 I’ll keep an eye on your messages and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I’ve read so many messages on here from people feeling like they’re going to lose their dream home.
I’d never been overly bothered about owning a house before when I was on my own but I’ve been with my partner for 7 years now and we want to own our own house and the one we’ve put an offer in for is our dream home. It’s not really expensive or extravagant in any way but it’s perfect for us and our two cats 😊
I’ve had a rough year with losing my dad so I could do with some good luck 😊
