GHG are now using delaying tactics to buy time to try and get through the backlog - my Installer has been in touch and was told that 3000 emails had been sent - one of which I received, out on Christmas Eve and many of these where sent in error, stating quotes where to high - causing panic  and confusion amongst applicants and installers.
Every time you contact them they will spin the same line in different ways eg:
your application was looked at today
your application has been passed to the relevant  team
your application is at the processing stage
your application is being looked at by a team leader
    your application is being reviewed
your application is gathering dust in the corner and I don’t really give a toss - I’ve just been told by management to pick one of the pre-filled answers above - just to get rid you !!
    Sound familiar anyone????

I ask myself how much more BS can I endure from GHG - the stretch is getting horrendous,
I’m about to pass out !!
Green Homes Grant should be renamed Green Homes Can’t.

The team you get through to when you call or use online chat have no way of influencing or changing your application, they can only see whats there. I've spoken to a few now who seem as confused and annoyed as I am, but they cant do anything about it. They also said the whole thing is a nightmare. So its frustrating not being able to actually contact anyone that matters. We can only wait and hope
Yes I've found this. Neither online chat or the phone helpline gets me through to anyone who is on the decision making team.  They can't answer any of my questions.

After also receiving an email on the 24th about my flat roof quote being too expensive I 1)submitted the second quote I already had which was 2.5k more expensive than that of my chosen installers and 2) spoke to my installer. They tell me several of their customers also received similar (unfair and unreasonable) emails and so the company director has spoken to the ghg team to make a complaint. So we need to wait and see what happens next..

I’ve just been in webchat, as I received the Xmas Eve email and did send them the extra details they asked for.
My response is ‘it will be checked with the audit team’
i pointed out that my quote expires at the end of January (4 months after it was submitted).
I was told ‘that doesn’t matter it will still be processed’
I then pointed out, it may be processed, but it is unlikely it will be valid with the installer and may result in a higher price due to the delay.
The response was ‘it will be checked with the audit team’
It is pointless contacting GHG - as a previous poster mentioned all you get are stock answers.

Might be worth screenshooting every conversation you have on GHG Webchat,  for your own records - just in case any dispute arises, about who said what and when ?   Just saying...

I applied for EWI on 11th November.
    Voucher received on 6th December
Installer phoned almost immediately to say they'd also received notification that the voucher had been issued.
    Work now completed.

Wow, nice one, I'm glad you got the work done, that gives some hope. I cant help but be a bit annoyed you applied so recently and got everything done. It seems that people who applied early seem to be at the back of the queue :)

Yes - I’d like to know this. This shambles needs to be highlighted.

Complain - been there done that - waste of time and effort!
i complained on Webchat stating I wanted to make a formal complaint about how my case was being handled.
I was advised my complaint - the above sentence ,  had been noted.
i asked what happens next regards my complaint - answer was “NOTHING happens, it’s logged as feedback.”
I asked what do you mean Nothing happens -  The answer I got back was “Nothing happens to complaints as we cannot  speed up the application process. It will be logged as feedback - is their anything else I can assist you with”

Not one to give up easily I insisted I speak with a Senior Manager - surprisingly I got a call from said manager next day,   long story short - said all the right things - “very apologetic - here to help- I want you to get your voucher as soon as possible , overrun with applications - I will keep an eye on your application. Should be sorted out shortly as you applied early October.  HOWEVER, unfortunately I cannot speed up your application as it is a different team that deals with the applications  and you cannot speak with them directly and even we the GHG mangers have no say in how they deal with your applications”
Basically Good Luck -  your wasting your time complaining.

So by by all means complain away if you feel the need to get it out your system - as I did - hopefully you’ll are more luck..

Unfortunately  in my experience it  did not get me any further forward - so I am now resigned to the fact that it will take as long as it takes - and there will be many more hoops to jump through  - before It gets done.
