Hi what happened for you to be on second lot of underwriting? Nerve Wracking is an understatement lol!Gem_M90 said:
I'm in my 2nd lot of underwriting with Halifax and have been told I should know by the end of this week, which will be 4 weeks in total. Only had the hard searches the day or 2 after initial application and nothing since. Nerve wracking!sofsar said:

I'm applying on my own due to defaults on my partners file. First time round the underwriters flagged my application for undisclosed credit use. It turned out my credit report was still showing £4500 of credit which had since been paid off (hadnt updated for about 3 months). I gathered all the evidence of payments and my broker resubmitted. That was 03/09 and they said 5-6 working day turnaround, so I'm hoping I hear by the end of this week.. Also hoping that since that was all the underwriters flagged up and we've sent the evidence that it should all be OK now. My broker said he's reasonably confident but that you just dont know anymore with the current situation.shakAFC said:

Mortgage offer on Wednesday finally. Had to wait for a physical valuation... Not massively impressed by esurv (valuation company) but quite impressed with Halifax - always responsive and keen to make the process as easy as it could ever be. Good luck all!!0

What didn’t you like about e.surv? I’ve got a physical valuation with them next FridayMarqos said:Mortgage offer on Wednesday finally. Had to wait for a physical valuation... They booked a desktop valuation which was cancelled on the day and booked for a week later. One week later they figured out they needed a physical valuation, all together made the whole mortgage application process a lot lengthier than it should have been. Although it was enough to satisfy Halifax, they clearly undervalued the property.FLB2796 said:

Here is my timeline for my mortgage with Halifax. I'm a FTB, no HTB, with a deposit of 15%.
24/08: Application in Principle in the morning, Full application in the evening. 2 hard credit searches and 1 soft affordability search (Bank of Scotland) reported by creditkarma
25/08: Soft affordability search (Lloyds )
27/08: Soft affordability search (Lloyds)
03/08: Broker said application had been agreed subject to valuation which had been instructed.
11/09: It was taking long so I reached out to broker who got to Halifax and said they were unable to reach the buyer on phone. I wrote the buyer and he supplied his contact details which were forwarded to Halifax by broker. A few minutes later, I got news that valuation was booked for 21/09
21/09: Valuation done.
22/09: Offer letter received from Halifax via broker

How did they decide they needed a physical valuation instead of a desktop? And how much did they downvalue your property by?Marqos said:
