Hi I have recently got a DIP with Halifax so made an offer on a house and got accepted.I have a default on my credit score from 2016 and it was paid off in September 2020. We have paid a 15% and have a HTB as we are FTB just wondering if someone could help me as I’m a nervous wreck
06.11.20 made the full application
09.11.20 email from MB asking for more of a background story on my default? Is this normal for Halifax to ask this l?09.11.20 got an email to say valuation has been booked for 11.11.20
does this mean my credit scoring has been mostly done and they are going ahead with valuation? If I had of failed the credit check would they have sent it for valuation?
Whole process is so nerve wrecking 😫😫0 -
I forgot to say my partners credit score is squeaky clean and nothing on itLindsey4123 said:Hi I have recently got a DIP with Halifax so made an offer on a house and got accepted.I have a default on my credit score from 2016 and it was paid off in September 2020. My application went to Halifax via MB, was told by the MB that Halifax books valuation before sending the application to the underwriters so not really any relevance.

I went from AIP to offer in 8 working days. They even moved my valuation forward by one day (without me knowing), because the surveyor had capacity. Offer arrived the following daySLindsey4123 said:

Be totally honest with them, we put our application through in September and we told them everything about a recent default that had been removed. They didn’t question it again after that. Good luck I know it’s nerve wracking but hopefully you’ll be fine. A DIP is a good indication if your credit score fits the criteria.0

Yeah on my application I was totally honest and got my mortgage adviser to say I had one. Then they emailed him to ask a little bit more about it and I was honest and they haven’t replied with anymore questions since so I’m hoping there okay with it.
