We got our offer through our broker on the day we submitted the full application and it came through in the post about 4 days later.

We’ve just exchanged and currently just so nervous now that they will pull the offer and we lose everything.

Has anyone else completed recently? Did they do any further credit checks after exchange/just before completion?
It appears a spam to me, how can you be Worried after exchange? When you have the keys to your home.

I am re mortgaging with Santander, currently with Platform. Applied late June. Physical valuation took place first week of July. Last update was 19th July from broker saying pay slips will be looked at in 9 working days. Still heard nothing.

Now Platform are offering virtually the same deal (0.05% more on the interest) so am looking to cancel the Santander application and product switch with Platform.

Still waiting on a copy of our offer through the post, thats nearly another week. Our solicitor needs to wait for it before we sign our paperwork even though we have an email copy.
What a long drawn out process this has been.
    Any updates for anyone else?
We had our email on Thursday and the offer came by post today (Tuesday)

    Hope that helps
  • Just to say , I got the offer email last night and a flurry of other mails with lms and some solicitor firm also. Broker confirmed this morning too. So all in all it was a super quick turn around. Submitted on 1st and offer on 8th.

We haven’t got the keys - we’ve exchanged not completed.

We’re first time buyers and the whole conveyancing got pretty heated so i think we are just nervous.

Our situation isn’t changing, just want it done!

Had a call from EA yesterday saying the vendor  for the  house I want to buy has missed out on the property he wanted to buy so most likely not going to sell his one, gutted as I just got the mortgage recently 😔, my question is if I find a property for a similar price would the lender have to reassess my application or just do  a revaluation?

Been chasing the agent to find out how the vendor is getting on finding a property, after being promised a call back 3 times I emailed them this morning.

Response was “The vendors are actively viewing properties but yet to find anything that suits their requirements so we’re in a bit of limbo at the moment. I’d avoid instructing a solicitor or arranging a mortgage at this time”

😂 this is the same agent that when we had our offer accepted, said they want our solicitor details within 3 days and that we need to let them know ASAP when our mortgage is in place.

I can’t explain how much I hate this agent 😂 completely useless.

Luckily we’re in no rush to move but we are going to keep half an eye on what else comes on the market as I don’t want the hassle of our offer expiring in December if the vendor drags their heels with finding a house.

What I don’t get is, Santander are saying there is a queue for underwriters , but it appears as though some people jump the queue and are getting speedy turn around. The service levels seem to be going up…so frustrating
  • Finally got our offer through the post, a week after it was approved. We can finally get moving!

After what feels like a lifetime wait we have finally had our mortgage issued email at 815pm! I never thought the day would come!
We applied via broker so don’t have the details of the offer issued so not sure if it will be for lower amount after down valuation or anything? We are FTB so clueless about this process. Dying to speak to the broker tomorrow.
    Our timeline:
29.6 full application and hard searches
    12.7 valuation done
19.7 questions from underwriters about credit agreements
    -27.7 passed to underwriters
    10.8 - offer issue email.
    We just need the details!
i hope everybody waiting hears soon. This wait has been horrendous and I’m not sure I’ve slept properly this since application! Fingers crossed this is it now.
