Hello,
Does anyone have any experience with getting a Santander mortgage recently and what kind of timeline did you have from submitting mortgage application to being accepted? We submitted our mortgage application on Friday 26th and still waiting to hear 😬

We’ve applied via broker on 18/05, got referred on head office on 19/06 and still waiting. Our case isn’t straight forward though.0

From broker feedback on the thread, Santander are one of the more picky among mainstream lenders.
That's more of an issue if there is self employed income to consider, as opposed to salaried.0 -
Straight forward case here which was submitted on the 23rd and the broker messaged me this evening to say it's been approved. My fingers have been itching all week to check-in on its status but tried to hold off and be patient... It's the uncertainty that was getting to me! Hope you hear back soon.0

Hi boop99, did you hear back? My broker submitted to Santander on the 1st July, we had to change some details unexpectedly on the 3rd, and then had a query about something else on the 8th. We haven't heard about valuation yet.jamielutz1987 said:From broker feedback on the thread, Santander are one of the more picky among mainstream lenders.

Our is fairly straightforward, except my partner gets paid hourly and has his basic salary but does overtime that varies slightly from month to month. Is this likely to make it take longer?
Just that we're hoping to complete at the end of the month and that feels very, very optimistic right now0 -
We applied to Santander yesterday.
I'm self employed, so not straightforward.
MA said to wait for valuation, and not to hold our breath for at least another week.

I’m employed but my OH is self employed affected by Covid. Santander applied 50% to OH’s net profit to calculate the affordability so we had to up our deposit. After nearly 3 weeks queuing in the head office, finally heard some good news back. Wish everyone waiting good luck!0 -
We had our mortgage offer come through today!
Timeline:
26th June - mortgage application sent
2nd July - Underwriters requested more payslips
13th July - Mortgage offer accepted
