Thought I'd post here about our Santander mortgage timeline to help give some information:
13/07 - AIP given for higher amount than required
23/07 - Offer accepted on new property
24/07 - Mortgage application started
27/07 - Application information sent in
27/07 - 1 x latest payslip sent for both of us
05/08 - Mortgage telephone interview (approx. 45 minutes) and application pack sent
06/08 - Application passed to underwriting
06/08 - Application approved subject to final checks and valuation
We are pretty straightforward, both full time employed unaffected by COVID (in fact our financial situation has improved throughout COVID).
Wasn't expecting decision to be so quick so over the moon with that, whole process couldn't have been easier to be honest. Valuation booked in for Monday 17th August so seems to be a small backlog in our area.1 -
Were awaiting decision , application went in on 3rd august , had text to confirm this . Additional info needing on extra income we receive and proof. Since then not heard much . Can see by Santander website applications are taking 15 days so hopefully hear something soon . Eek0

No. Our survey was booked after a week, but I am still answering queries about my SE. I see it as we haven't been rejected outright and it is most likely it will be offered as long as the valuation comes back ok, but not guaranteed to be offered the full amount needed. If that makes sense?Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

I am hoping for something towards the end of next week as our survey was done on Wednesday. But lots of questions about my SE and furloughed job. We are asking for near the max, but it's at less than 75%LTV, so fingers crossed. Also hubby's job is covid proof and over four times my income!!! We know we can afford it, wish we could actually give them my complete budget to look at, would be easier than answering ridiculous questions 😂Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Our application went in on the 11th so it will probably be the end of the month before we hear anything! It’s a shame Santander don’t send you more text updates or have a section on the website which shows you the status of your application.0

We had our valuation take place on Friday. Any ideas how long it normally takes to hear back? Applied directly with Santander with an in-branch mortgage advisor. The waiting is killing us!

Our application was submitted on the 11th. Going by the website timescales our application should now be set up and documents reviewed but we haven’t heard anything from Santander or our MA. Hoping things are going through ok.0
