I think ours says 30th Dec, we had the offer through 4th August - didn’t think to query it!

Just an update to this, our mortgage broker checked and said on their portal it shows that the offer has an automatic extension until 30th January so it looks as though offers this year will have an extra month but of course always worth checking your own.

Hello, can anyone tell me if when going through the application process you were asked for bank statements even though you are a santander customer ? My MB reckons santander won't ask for statements if I am banking with them.

How long does it typically take to get a mortgage offer from Santander from the start of the application?

Submitted my direct application to Santander two weeks ago.

Underwriter took one working day to request further documents. Supplied the documents the next working day.

Underwriter came back the next working day with a further request. Mortgage adviser challenged immediately stating we have already supplied the document on file, so that wouldn’t be necessary.

Have never heard since then and it’s the 7th working day. Does this mean rejection? 🥲 

To add: no adverse credit history at all; falls within the lending criteria; overseas gifted deposit but have all the necessary supporting documentation submitted

Resurrecting an old post. Applied via a broker 2 weeks ago. 

9 March - hard credit search completed with TU and Experian

16 March - valuation (it’s a new build and only thirty bricks high but hey ho)

Wondering how long until I get a decision? 

Will Santander have worked the case whilst waiting for the valuation or do they wait until they’ve got everything to start working it?

Has anyone ever put in a application with santander after deciding they may go for another property?

Does the existing mortgage still stand for 6 months in the meantime?

Hi all.  

Just wanted to share my timeline so far. We were going with HSBC but MB switched to Santander at the last moment I am soooo blooming anxious I thought it might help to type out!! 

10/11 - AIP
11/11 - Full Application
11/11 - Experian and TU hard search
13/11 - Email from MB to say VS instructed. Email from surveyors to book survey. 
15/11 - Valuation survey

All seems to be going really quick and it's unnerving me! Kind of thinking they don't like our CC debt so are just going through the motions really quickly to put us out of our misery!  🙈

All in all 7 days! Well impressed with Santander 😀

I submitted my mortgage on 13th November. Only 2 days ago underwriters have contacted me for more documentation.
