  • It took 3 days for us to get our offer email then another 5 to get it in the post.
Thank you. After a very stressful few days, it’s all sorted now. The intermediary number was rang this morning. I cried and said I would be homeless in 48 hours if my solicitor didn’t get the mortgage offer by 12noon. She said ‘oh I’ll send it over instantly’. So the solicitors had my mortgage offer and sent for funds to be released on an emergency 24 hour turn around all before I got my mortgage offer email at 12.30. I think mine was an unusual case. So I haven’t needed to wait for it to come in the post to enable exchange or completion. Hope this helps someone.

Does anyone know how this ‘quick response opportunity’ works? They asked for documents they’d previously approved and we’d already proceed…so we provided them again within 15 mins. How long are they meant to take to respond?

Aww I'm so happy for you, no idea why these things are such an issue.
Congratulatuons! Now pour a large wine and relax, I feel like I could sleep for a week after all the stress x
  • I've been having an absolute nightmare with my Santander mortgage application. I applied through a broker on 26th May, valuation was about a week later, and yet still nothing. They have kept coming back with questions, which we have promptly answered, and now it seems to be stuck. Santander now say they are waiting for something from the valuer, but they can't explain to the broker what they are actually waiting for. Every time the broker calls them she speaks to a different person, but if she ever gets through to someone helpful they tell her something will happen, then it doesn't, so she has to call up again and speak to a new person who does it all over again! I've tried calling Santander myself but because it was through a broker they say they can't tell me anything. This is the most stressful process I've been through in my entire life.

    Hi

My broker submitted an application last Tuesday, the next day they booked a valuation booked for next Friday, 26th August.
So far, all they have asked my broker for is for 1mth pay slip.

Is this normal to sit on an application for almost 10 days by the time the valuation happens?

    Thanks

Has anyone received there offer but have less than 6 months on it? Ours was issued this month but says it’s valid until December. I thought offers lasted 6 months? It even says it on there website.

I think ours says 30th Dec, we had the offer through 4th August - didn’t think to query it!
  • It's quite out here, is Santander out of mortgage business?

  • We got our mortgage approved almost 5 weeks ago but because of Santander's rubbish systems they only put the home report valuation on the mortgage offer and not the value we are actually paying (we are based in Scotland so surveys are completed by sellers)

Our solicitors have been back and forth to Santander answering questions about proof of funds etc but they seem to be taking their time to update the offer and resend with the advisor at Santander saying it might go back to an underwriter?

Just wondering if anyone has had this delay?
