Mortage offer received in the post by Santander today, finally! However our sellers are still yet to provide relevant information to their solicitors so no draft contracts have been started meaning no searches have been completed- our offer on the property was accepted 5 weeks ago so I am very fustrated as we can not move forward !
I'm guessing this is is the sales memorandum. Once they have this, then draft contracts and searches will be underway. Without draft contracts, searches will not be carried out.
Searches can take an average of four weeks also, I am on week 2, and 3 searches have come back just waiting for the the last 2.
I have also been advised that contracts should be with me by the back end of this week for me to sign and return. Also chased my EA to see if the leasehold management pack has been requested (LPE1) and this was requested on the 17/05.
Looks like things are progressing, but I believe this will be the longest process as there is quite a lot of carry out.

We’re exactly the same only it’s nearly 7 weeks ago!!! Granted, our mortgage hasn’t been approved yet but when/if it is, we’ll be no further on as the seller is dragging her heels

Thanks for this. I’m clueless at how long the solicitors process will take once this paperwork is received! Hopefully the paperwork is sorted so we can get things moving. Hoping things go fast for you also!

Ahh it’s so frustrating isn’t it! Just want to get things moving - fingers crossed it will be sorted soon. And hopefully you get your offer soon!

Just applied for our mortgage! Seems to be moving a little slower than our last application at the end of April (we cancelled late on due to pulling out of the house).

    So far...

20/5/21 - Offer on house accepted
    20/5/21 - Applied for mortgage
20/5/21 - Asked for supporting documents

    Good luck everyone!
What kind of supporting documents did they ask for?
I've sent 6 months payslips, p60, 6 months of bank statements for both my current account and the account my deposit was being saved into
And every payslip for the last year that had any bonuses on them......what more could they ask for?

On my application they came back with a question about one of my payslips (I had submitted the standard 3 months of everything). Luckily it was easy to answer but it put us back in the queue
  • I had some questions about transactions on my bank statements, a couple of credit card payments and even a couple of Amazon ones, which was very random.

My broker advised on Friday that he was told we would receive an update by end of day today - not sure whether that will be a decision or more questions. Another day of stress!

  • We’re hoping to hear something midweek according to our MA. He told me last Wednesday that there is a massive backlog. Here’s my timeline so far.
Full Mortgage Ap - 10th May
Soft Credit Check - 10th May
    Supporting Docs - 17th May
    Valuation - 18th May

The valuation has come back satisfactory but we’re told it would be a week before we had any further information.

Our situation is FTB with the H2B.
    One employed and one self-employed.

    Good luck everyone!
