Weve been waiting 2 weeks tomorrow since we answered the last questions Santander asked!
They said they passed it back to the underwriters last Wednesday but when my MA checked its progress last Friday he said we was in no mans land! The lenders were saying it was sent but the underwriters hadn't got it. Bless him, he's been on the phone 2 plus hours sorting it! Its now back with the underwriters from yesterday so the wait begins again.
Tomorrow we will have been waiting 5 weeks so far.
ERGH! I wouldn't mind so much if it was guaranteed but i just worry if its not approved and we need to start over with someone else we could loose our sale!
I feel like ours is in no mans land too. Surely it's not normal to not hear a thing for almost 2 weeks (tomorrow).
Annoyingly my broker isn't responding to my emails either. Not sure what I'm paying them for!!! Our offer was accepted on the 16th April. You'd think this would be wrapped up by now 😭

I think a lot of solicitors use private companies but they're not always quicker from what I've seen on these boards, mine were though as they only took 8 weeks or so, otherwise I'd still be waiting, probably until August! 😆 solicitors are usually told when they're due back and in some cases you can expedite them too (for an extra fee of course!)
Good luck to all those still waiting, it's so nerve-wracking isn't it. I just need my valuation done 🤞

We’re hoping to hear something midweek according to our MA. He told me last Wednesday that there is a massive backlog. Here’s my timeline so far.
Full Mortgage Ap - 10th May
Soft Credit Check - 10th May
    Supporting Docs - 17th May
    Valuation - 18th May

The valuation has come back satisfactory but we’re told it would be a week before we had any further information.

Our situation is FTB with the H2B.
    One employed and one self-employed.

    Good luck everyone!
How long after valuation before you found out that it was satisfactory?
FTB 85% LTV Employed Previous furlough/flexi furlough (no furlough since 9/2020
    offered 11/5
best & finals 12/5 (we stuck with our original offer)
    Offer accepted 13/5
    AIP 17/5
    Full application submitted Santander 17/5
    Hard Credit check 17/5
    Valuation instructed 19/5
    valuation completed 25/5
    mortgage offer received 25/5
    buildings survey completed 1/6

  • Urgh this is just the worst isn't it. My broker is a bit flaky in terms of updates so I am just hoping he's as proactive as he is making out and that the update he gave about expecting a response today is accurate. (even if it does mean more questions!!)

I like some of you took the gamble to get the searches started as this whole process is taking long enough, I didn't want the overall piece to be delayed more than necessary than holding off on the searches. If I don't get the mortgage, losing the search fee will be the least of my worries!

Good luck everyone still waiting x

For all those who have been through the solicitor process how long am I likely to wait from draft contracts until completion? Mortage offer sitting but seller still dragging heels with paperwork so still waiting - yet desperate to get things moving!

Same Leanne1038 - We had our offer accepted 17th April, we both have good jobs and have not been affected by Covid. My other half is self employed but all his paperwork was up to date etc, it reallllly shouldn't take this long! Some of the questions weve been asked as well have been so ridiculous, its frustrating.
Lets hope for positive news this week!

Just applied for our mortgage! Seems to be moving a little slower than our last application at the end of April (we cancelled late on due to pulling out of the house).

    So far...

20/5/21 - Offer on house accepted
    20/5/21 - Applied for mortgage
20/5/21 - Asked for supporting documents

    Good luck everyone!
What kind of supporting documents did they ask for?
I've sent 6 months payslips, p60, 6 months of bank statements for both my current account and the account my deposit was being saved into
And every payslip for the last year that had any bonuses on them......what more could they ask for?
That’s mad - I hope they don’t ask for all that with me! Last time round and this time they’ve asked for one months pay slip, p60, proof of child benefit and proof of universal credit. Not much else! Some questions but not all of that! My deposit is tied up in the sale of my shared ownership property so that might be a reason they need to know less of how I’ve saved for the deposit. Time will tell, they may ask for a lot more!
