The solicitor wouldn’t even start the searches after we got approved as our deposit wouldn’t go down as a gift that’s why we are waiting to see if we can get approved again!
Hello again, I take it you are still waiting to hear?? We really are hoping to hear something today.
Honestly I could kick my partner’s little friends.
He forgot to add we have a dependant! Not sure how he could forget that seen as we have him telling us he going for a wee every two seconds and constantly asking for food.
Santander came back to us yesterday to say you have stated you have no dependants how come you have parent pay payment on your bank statements and asked why his company is in Manchester but we live in north Wales. My partner works all around north Wales. We are now waiting for them to accept the response then will be back in the que probs for another week!

Oh you are kidding!!! The forgetting of the dependant made me laugh.  Oh really! I am fully expecting more silly questions today.  We should have been moving in next week haha.

Hopefully they will give you an offer! I hope they don’t start asking anymore questions. I shouldn’t of left it for him to fill out but thought I could trust him to know he has one child. Have you been in the que long since they asked for more documents?

We've still not heard. I even emailed my broker yesterday asking for an update and they haven't responded either. I feel like everyday I'm just waiting and waiting and waiting for an email. My partner is self employed but our case is straight forward as we're porting his existing mortgage to the new house and adding me on, they've already given us our mortgage demonstration and the valuation was done. I just don't know or understand what the hold up is 😭

For those that are querying about searches, your solicitor can order them before you get your mortgage offer if you instruct them to, they're working for you after all. I did with mine and got them back before my offer. Obviously there is a risk you could lose that money which is why many of them don't, but local searches are taking forever in some areas at the moment, you can check your timescale here:

If this is accurate many do seem to have caught up with their backlogs but my LA is at 90 working days!

I am pretty sure they don't. That wasn't the case with me, may be case dependent but I've never heard of such personally. Seems like  waste of time for them if there is no offer.
Yes it is case dependent @Ubayd95

My solicitors started my searches as well. The risk is you could lose your money but we were willing to take the gamble.

yeah it depends on your case. There are so many stories around mortgage processes. lol
  • Weve been waiting 2 weeks tomorrow since we answered the last questions Santander asked!
They said they passed it back to the underwriters last Wednesday but when my MA checked its progress last Friday he said we was in no mans land! The lenders were saying it was sent but the underwriters hadn't got it. Bless him, he's been on the phone 2 plus hours sorting it! Its now back with the underwriters from yesterday so the wait begins again.
Tomorrow we will have been waiting 5 weeks so far.
ERGH! I wouldn't mind so much if it was guaranteed but i just worry if its not approved and we need to start over with someone else we could loose our sale!

Hey Nat, I've seen that website also. My searches were requested on the 14th, 3 have come back, just waiting for the water and drainage search.
Was meant to also get contracts back this week but they have queried a deed which outlines the lease details, so it's been requested from Land registry.
Hope things get moving soon, got till 31st August, think that is plenty of time.
