  • I find the application process a little strange to be honest.

We applied on the 18th September - straight forward with a HTB application. Broker told us 3-4 week wait.

I had an email on Monday from the broker to say that the valuation had been carried out and the application had been approved subject to valuation. So less than 2 weeks!

Wow That’s great! I really hope that is the case for us. We were eight weeks into the sale and venders have pulled out as they have got buyers that can apparently move quicker than us. Estate agent has basically said they if we can get the mortgage in the next 2 weeks then they would consider us for the sale again. So annoyed. We have two young children 3 and 1 and still going through with the sale of our house so hoping it come through sooner rather than later.
    Fingers crossed

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who gets offers when. I've read simple cases taking weeks and others taking less than a week!
  • Congrats on the approvals :) pop open the Prosecco.

I'm on working day 15 with no news since day 7. Fingers crossed.
  • I agree - ours wasn’t straight forward. Both self employed, 2 separate businesses. I’m quite stunned to be honest

Morning everyone! We had our application submitted on the 22nd October and haven't heard a peep yet from Santander so presuming everything is okay so far. My partner is SE and took the SEISS help (although this was for a second side gig business, actual business wasn't affected). Has anyone got any experience with Santander and their approach to the SEISS help taken, do they penalize for it?
