Mine was submitted on 24th August. They did the valuation on 28th August and it’s been in the underwriter queue since then. They finally looked at it today, asked two simple questions and I’m back in the queue ☹️roro123 said:
Same here! When was your application submitted? Can't believe the wait for them to look at the updates after all this time!newhomechris said:After all this time, I have had some questions this afternoon. Most of it was answered by my broker but he asked me one very simple question. He has sent the info back and they’ve said it will be looked at again in another 5 days. We shall see - these time scales are unpredictable and ridiculous!!!0 -
Mine also went in on the 10th. Not heard a peep from them since, no questions anything. Hoping because broker did a full application. Valuation was done on the 23rd (I assume it happened). Broker says it's usually 3-4 days to hear the results of that. I too read they're on apps from the 4th. Just feels like it'll be another week or two before it even gets to an UW 😑

Yep, sounds the same as ours ☹ Glad we're not alone, I feel your frustration!newhomechris said:

I’m glad you said that - it’s exactly how I feel. It’ll all be worth it in the end 🏠roro123 said:

Hi everyone! Just thought i would add to the Santander frustrations on here. Our MB submitted our application on the 22.09, and has stated that they are currently checking the documents as per the intermediary page but she also stated that the next step would be underwriting stage which is currently stuck on the 6th September. My partner is SE so i'm guessing we require a bit more looking into. My MB has also said that lots of lendors are in the same boat, think this is the norm atm but does anyone have experience with faster lendors?0

Is it worth asking our mb to stop the Santander application and go with someone else? Our landlord is getting itchy for us to leave and our vendor is getting itchy for us to proceed. I’m getting it from both sides right now and don’t know what to do.0

It might be worth checking with your mortgage broker the wait times on other lenders as you could run into the same problem and then be delayed even further. My MB said they're having these troubles across the board if that's any reconciliation. I've noticed that Santander underwriter's time as gone up to 07.09 from 04.09 across the weekend so fingers crossed they are making better progress now! Is your vendor getting a mortgage too or are you at the end of the chain?JenniferMcConnell said:Is it worth asking our mb to stop the Santander application and go with someone else? Another update today - we submitted more information yesterday about why I work so far away from our registered office and they said they would look at it again in 5 days, and they have come back with another question this morning about whether I used to work from home before COVID. That suggests that they have looked at it again today....... Lots of questions though!newhomechris said:

Finally had some questions! Weird stupid questions about our relationship with the vendor and will they have an interest in the property once sold (we're presuming because it's private sale, no agents involved). About 6 questions, all just required verbal confirmation from the broker. She went back to them straight away so now we're back in the queue.....
I asked my broker whether she needs updated payslip and bank statements tomorrow as end of the month but she said it's not necessary so I'm hoping that bit's satisfied.
Back to the waiting but at least not outright rejected, every cloud! 😄0 -
They requested additional payslips today which our MA has already provided & also valuation has been booked for tomorrow. At least we are progressing!0
