Ah Ok thanks. We submitted 26/08. Valuation instructed straight away but only done 23/09.SueF1 said:
When did your application go in?xNaomi said:
Not self employed but just before we put our application in (literally same day and we had everything ready to submit) our mortgage advisor said that Santander wanted a declaration from us on whether our job and incomes have been affected by COVID and reasons why/why notSueF1 said:Anyone self employed and been requested to fill in a form about how Covid has affected the business (apparently you have to do this for Natwest)? Just trying to 2nd guess anything they're going to request and get it to them before they ask!0 -
OMG valuation done 28/08 and still nothing?! Now that is depressing! For all of us as well as you!newhomechris said:The underwriting delay with Santander are off the scale at the moment. According to their service level update on the website, they are STILL looking at applications sent to underwriters on 4th September - today is the fourth day they’ve been looking at that date. Mine went in on 5th!!! Hopefully no more questions for me as I’m told it’s just awaiting finals checks.I think that at this stage, all the credit check and affordability is done and it’s just a case of double checking and marrying the application with the valuation (which was done on 28th August!!!).I am going out of my mind with all this!! I know that every single case is different, and it’s useless trying to draw comparisons, but I personally get comfort from hearing that I’m not the only one going through this!

Has anyone who went to underwriters on the 4th heard anything yet? I know they've been stuck on that day for ages! Thanks.0

I'm confused about the whole UW thing.. Apparently there's a 2 stage process. Does this timescale (4th Sept) mean the first stage (to check everything's there) or does it mean the 2nd final stage (ie, after valuation and offer will be made after this) because I applied 26/08, had the valuation 23/09 so surely if it means the 2nd stage of the process then I'm going to be waiting at least another month for it even to be seen by UW. That surely can't be right.roro123 said:Has anyone who went to underwriters on the 4th heard anything yet? I know they've been stuck on that day for ages! Thanks.
Apparently mine is waiting to be seen by the UW. Broker says it's been and come back so presumably it's been for the first stage and is waiting to go back for checking now the valuation is back.
Sorry if this has confused you, clearly worrying about it all too much!

Don't worry, I am already totally confused! Ours went in on 28/08, was sent to underwriters on 04/09. I'm not sure a valuation has been done, broker seems to think that it has. Just heard from him, and he said they had asked him some questions which he was able to answer, and needed my most recent payslip, so have sent that to him. Thinking now it will go to the bottom of the pile again! It's driving me crazy!SueF1 said:

After all this time, I have had some questions this afternoon. Most of it was answered by my broker but he asked me one very simple question. He has sent the info back and they’ve said it will be looked at again in another 5 days. We shall see - these time scales are unpredictable and ridiculous!!!0

hi Jennifer, my application also went in on the 10th. I was asked for extra documents when first submitted, even though we had already supplied them. Then last Monday I was asked for a letter from my company to say I wouldn't be made redundant in the foreseeable future. Of course, I couldn't supply that so now just waiting in limbo for them to make the next move.0

Little point in an underwriter reviewing the application until all the base documentation is available for them to assess. Different people/teams handle different aspects of the paperwork processing/checking.SueF1 said:ftbhoping said:
We did this at application stage. Our MB asked loads of questions and he drafted a statement about it for santander.SueF1 said:Anyone self employed and been requested to fill in a form about how Covid has affected the business (apparently you have to do this for Natwest)? Santander apparently have a 2 stage UW process. First to check they have all the docs they need then goes back to them to check over and make decisions. Seems odd that they would then start top request lots of new things at the 2nd stage if they'd already confirmed they had everything they wanted..0 -
Same here! When was your application submitted? Can't believe the wait for them to look at the updates after all this time!newhomechris said:After all this time, I have had some questions this afternoon.
