Congratulations @ftbhoping and @SueF1! Nice to see people actually getting offers and it's not just some bizarre game we're all stuck in!
Broker said today unfortunately there are massive delays across all lenders, but hopeful we're slightly ahead of the current Santander date of 8 Sep applications going to underwriters as we're going through the new homes team. He's also hopeful the Help to Buy loan will be approved either tomorrow or early next week, so fingers crossed...Debt Free: 06/03/2020 Highest Debt: £37,5140 -

10th Submitted full application and all documents
11th requested details of my furlough and if been effected (they already had this)
12th requested salary details (they already had this)
21st requested a letter to say I wouldn’t be made redundant in the foreseeable future (a strange request)
22nd was told not possible for this document as employer only gives generic references
1st October requested a letter to say I wasn’t working a notice period of redundancy & was told if I can’t get this document the mortgage wouldn’t be approved.
I believe Santander just don’t want to lend at the minute. Despite contracts, payslips and letters from employer to confirm salary, all dated in the last 3 weeks, they still want redundancy letter to state I’m not being made redundant.
Don’t I’ll be able to get this letter so a wasted 4 weeks.0 -
Jumping at every notification, hoping it would bring some good news
working day 24 on a straight forward case.
Doubt will get any updates today and then we have weekend again.0 -
The wait is so stressful. We started the process in August - we are existing customers!
The silence is intolerable - punctuated by texts that don’t inform much. 😥0 -
I couldn’t agree more. I was told by my broker that’s it’s back with underwriters to look at today so I’m literally distracted from any thought of work today!!0

Hope it happens for you soon @newhomechris
Our valuation was instructed but didn't happen. Another couple of weeks of the waiting game now. We will be into week 7 or 8 by then0 -

We got ours last week after 5 week wait. 3 weeks of this was waiting for the survey as they couldn't do any sooner. No extra questions from the underwriters though (apart from to confirm our relationship with the vendor as private sale no agents) which we were amazed about given what everyone else has been having.
Seems so different for everyone.0 -
