As others have done, I thought I'd share my timeline as things go.
I'm a FTB applying via a broker.
24/3 - DIP and soft credit check
25/3 - Full application, received text & email confirmation and had a hard credit check
26/3 A further soft and hard credit check.1 -
Also a FTB our application went in Monday night 15/03 and we’re still waiting for an update longest two weeks of my life hoping we know by tomorrow! Hopefully goes quicker for you I know two weeks isn’t a lot but my god it feels like forever 😂cloudkicker18 said:As others have done, I thought I'd share my timeline as things go.

I know the feeling, I'm only a few days in and I'm already rather impatient. Good luck hope you hear some news this week so you can have at least 1 weight off your shoulder for easter.z060291 said:Also a FTB our application went in Monday night 15/03 and we’re still waiting for an update longest two weeks of my life hoping we know by tomorrow! Can I ask have you instructed your solicitors to do any searches yet? I'm waiting for a yes from the mortgage first. I'm not really a gambler and never like to tempt fate. Just hoping it doesn't pee off the vendor.

No we haven’t and I definitely won’t until the mortgage is accepted... we’ve been told our sellers are moving out in June and the searches in our area are only taking around 2-3 weeks so we should be fine! The Estate Agent was pushing us to pay for it last week but MB has advised not to until mortgage accepted else if anything goes wrong you’ve lost the money. Definitely hold off! You should have your offer in the next week or so 🙂cloudkicker18 said:

That’s rather longer than normal. Hope you get an update. You can always check Experian to see when a soft and hard check is made.z060291 said:

I’ve just checked and there’s two searches on the 15th from Santander to I’m guessing that’s a soft and hard search?1

The one that says 'Can Impact Your Experian Credit Score' is a hard search I believe. In the details, mine says 'First Mortgage'. I'm not an expert, just slightly ahead of you in the timeline. I've had 2 soft searches during the DIP and then one hard search upon full application. I believe I had two soft searches as my MA might have applied for 2 separate amounts or interest rates? Don't know if anyone can shed light on that. The soft details just say 'Mortgage Quotation'.z060291 said:I’ve just checked and there’s two searches on the 15th from Santander to I’m guessing that’s a soft and hard search?0 -
Soft searches seem to be the quotation and affordability checks. Hard is the credit application0

Hi all.
Just a question to those who have had offers through...
What was the difference between your dip amount and actual offer?
Our broker looked at a few other lenders who would lend us 120k max (low, one income family with 3 dependents) but managed to get 168.5k with santander which is so much more that I cant help worry our broker has something wrong. My credit file has had a soft search done and we are due to submit an application this week. We have a huge deposit but very limited salary for greater London.
