For everyone enduring the awful waiting game just keep your fingers crossed as I never thought I would get accepted after being turned down by precise and we were and moved into our new home just over a week ago. Worth all the stress in the end.
Many Thanks
I'm employed my other half is self employed. First time buyers using htb and with an approx 67 percent loan to value
We applied through a broker

Obviously we are gutted and probably going to lose the house. Mb has advised us to apply to NatWest, any idea what our chances are and how long it might take ?Don’t give up.0

I applied directly and got a Dip then did the application online and again came back with a provisionally successful decision.
The next day I got an email to say that a valuation had been instructed. An hour later I got some questions that I had to answer.
Yesterday I got an update to say that they now have all the documentation and Information they need and will now be passed to the underwriter and can expect update in three days.
Is this normal for the application to go to an underwriter after valuation been instructed?
Does every application go through an underwriter?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi,
thought I’d jump on this post. We’re currently waiting for our mortgage offer.Me and my partner are both FTB. 5% Deposit with a 20% HTB Equity loan so 75% LTV.
we got an AIP last month for 20k more than we need. Reserved our new build and applied for the mortgage on 5th feb.HTB authority to proceed has been completed so just waiting on Santander now.Only update we have had so far from Santander is - they asked persimmon for the value of “our white goods as incentives” - Is this normal? And if so, is this a good or a bad sign?Me and my partner both have good credit scores with 0 late/missed payments and no defaults or CCJs ever etc. We’re just really worried for some reason we won’t be approved - both employed but she’s on furlough, but we have a letter from employer saying she will be back to work as soon as non essential retail is open.
Are we worrying for nothing? Hopefully someone can put our minds at ease

I also notice santander have done 4 credit checks on my experian account.
Soft search 10/2/21
Hard search 11/2/21
Soft search 12/2/21
Hard search 12/2/21
Is this normal?
I thought it would be 1 soft and 1 hard search.
All these searches have lowered my score 50 points.

Hey was wondering if anyone can help?
I heard back that my application has been approved by the underwriters, am I to presume this means they have said yes?
Within the update, they have also said the below. Has anyone else been in the same situation as me?
Next steps
1. Confirm your identity
We've posted you a letter which contains an address verification code. Please enter this code in the 'Confirm your identity' section of your application tracking page, if you haven't already done this.
We'll provide you with an update on the progress of your application once these steps have been completed and we've received the outcome of the valuation checks.
How long does this letter take to come?

If this is the response after uploading your documents and they have been checked by the underwriter it means they are giving you the mortgage subject to receiving an address check via confirming the code on the letter.
Once you confirm the code I assume you will get your offer through.
