Totally unacceptable for the estate agent to pressure you like that. They all know that the banks are taking longer to process applications.
For anyone who has had their mortgage sorted, how long is the wait from when the underwriter starts looking at the case to receiving an offer? ( if they do not ask more questions). I'm in the queue for the underwriters to have a look on the 12th ( so yday and today according to the status page)  but not sure if i should chase my broker when it hits the 13th or wait longer

Definitely chase. It won’t do any harm!

For SE the trend in seeing is that you join UW queue 7 days after you’ve submitted application...first update roughly 23 days after...

Thank you our application went in on 1/10 had an update 9/11 wanting confirmation our business wasn’t effected by covid from accountant. After it’s sent in how long is it usually u have an update? 

Well looking at there timelines, it seems 4:5 working days after...so today or Monday..

We have put the application in today, we've had an update saying it's been passed on to underwriting, the valuation has also been arranged for Monday 23rd November. It's a single application, employed, shared ownership 85ltv.

We just got our mortgage offer email. Our timeline was:

01/10 Applied
07/10 Sent to underwriters
We then had a few queries the last two weeks which we/our mortgage broker responded to (they asked for an additional payslip and also some queries on bank statement)
13/11 Offer accepted

We are both employed.

Ours was sent on the 20/10. We applied on the 13th..7 days before. I assume you applied on the 12th??

Makes sense..seems everyone goes into UW queue 7 days after application...
we expect to hear next Friday so assume you will Thursday...big week ahead and everything crossed for you. 

The time line has dropped to 22days today so may be Wednesday you hear
