That’s the million dollar question. They are looking at applications sent to the underwriters on 7th October. Not the date the application was made. I have yet to find out how and when the application goes to the underwriters. But it’s definitely a different date!Rach7379 said:

Hi.
We will be putting a shared ownership mortgage application in tomorrow (85LTV). Orginally, we have submited the application with Leeds Building Society on the 22nd September and today they've reduced the amount they are willing to offer by nearly £20k which has really upset me (why haven't they done it during the initial assessment...) Our MA has suggested Santander. Just wanted to see what's your experience ? Surely it can't take any longer than Leeds 😂22/09 - application submitted with Leeds BS, long story short, on the 9/11 we've been told that Leeds is reducing the amount they're willing to lend by nearly £20k (turns out our broker FORGOT to declare our child on the application)
10/11 - found another mortgage advisor
11/11 - AIP with Santander (single applicant, shared ownership, 85LTV)
12/11 - all documents sent
13/11 - application with Santander submitted and passed to underwriting. Valuation booked for 23/11
19/11 - mortgage agreed, subject to a satisfactory valuation
23/11 - mortgage offer issued
19/12 - completed0 -
To be honest I think they just can’t get a mortgage and have tried different people to obtain one. We already know that this is at least their 2nd mortgage advisor they have gone topinklady3333 said:

That date is for the underwriting queue not for when the application went in. We applied on the 17th but didn’t get placed into the underwriting queue until late on the 26th. They applied about 9 days before us and we’ve been told the UW will be looking at ours end of the month so I’d assume they’d look at theirs around the middle of this month.Rach7379 said:The latest update this evening is that their mortgage advisor have said that they checked the tracking on Santander and they have been looking at applications sent on 7th October and hopefully theirs wil be looked at tomorrowdo you know if they’re self employed? If either of them are then it’s definitely taking longer for them as we’re all in the same queue. If they’re both employed/no furlough etc then they might get through the process a lot quicker!!
silly to put an offer in in a July and not be applying till October though!! They clearly like living on the edge!! Ha0 -
They certainly are lol we just want it all over and done with as this was our parents house who have unfortunately passed awayMeh123 said:
