I wanted to switch to them, I have an E7 meter but I am currently on a single rate. However they finally got back to me and said they can't do this. (
They can do it, I have an E7 meter and on single rate tariff as I don't have storage heaters.
Not any more I'm afraid.  I was with Neon Reef with an E7 meter charged at single rate, found them great and left them only when the price rocketed.  However, when I now try to get a quotation they immediately say that they don't support my type of meter.
All very strange.  Perhaps they don't want the hassle of replacing a radio teleswitch?

OMG Just seen on Sky news. Four more likely to go bust by tomorrow. Could one be NR? .  If they are I will cancel under the cooling off period.

Just heard one of them near to collapse is NR.

Was hoping they'd last a couple of months longer but it was expected, only so long that 17p/kwh can last in these times.

I'll have to think about options once it happens and I see who I end up with. I'll manage whatever happens.
  • The Sky item I have seen mentions Neon Reef, along with Pure Planet and Zebra.

    Oh dear, more hassle

I am responsible for organising the bills at three different properties & if Neon Reef go then almost every one of the suppliers I originally chose will have gone bust - also I moved to Neon Reef twice after Symbio & Green went bust so I will be dealing with 7 different SoLR take overs if NR go - three of them will be Neon Reef as they currently supply all three properties

Right now analysts are saying 'potentially at risk of collapse' but usually it ends up being correct.

Ofgem, the energy regulator, is braced for a fresh wave of supplier collapses this week as the crisis engulfing the industry continues to accelerate.
Sky News understands that at least four suppliers were in talks with Ofgem on Tuesday about entering its Supplier of Last Resort (SOLR) system in a development expected to add several hundred thousand households to the toll of those impacted by soaring wholesale gas prices.
Industry sources said the decision of at least some of those four companies to cease trading could be announced as early as Wednesday.

They are thought to include Pure Planet, which Sky News revealed at the weekend had been left marooned by backer BP's likely decision to terminate financial support to the company.
An executive at one of the UK's biggest energy companies said they understood that the other suppliers that were about to enter the SOLR mechanism were significantly smaller than Pure Planet in terms of customer numbers.
A Pure Planet spokesman said at the weekend that it had 250,000 customers.
Analysts named Ampower, Zebra Energy and Neon Reef among those that were potentially at risk of collapse.

  • If it goes bust hope it happens soon so can cancel my direct debit and be in a position where I would owe them money.
Moved from green, now this, hope I’m  lucky with the next one!

I received my Welcome back on the 3 October and it states I have 14 days under the cooling off period to cancel contract. May be an idea to to cancel now rather than wait. Would be interested to know what others may be doing.
