Neon Reef - any views?

Probably too late to apply for the warm home discount with whoever I end up with isn't it? Would soften the blow and perhaps if we talk to them something could be done. Never applied for it since I was always with cheap ones and they weren't part of it or were only for the core group.0

It’s like when a travel company goes bust - very annoying when you find out that they were still taking bookings on the day they went under.0

You might not even be able to contact anybody anyway to try to cancel the transfer ?
If you do try then let us know how you get on0 -

Just heard one of them near to collapse is NR.
Oh dear, more hassle
I am responsible for organising the bills at three different properties & if Neon Reef go then almost every one of the suppliers I originally chose will have gone bust - also I moved to Neon Reef twice after Symbio & Green went bust so I will be dealing with 7 different SoLR take overs if NR go - three of them will be Neon Reef as they currently supply all three properties2 -
Definitely won't be surprised if NR is one of the ones announced tomorrow. When I was looking around for a half-decent fix about 3 weeks ago, I did find them and almost did a panic-sign up because the prices were so good, until I took a step back to actually think about it. If it's too good to be true, it probably is, I'd never heard of them before, and small suppliers were dropping like flies... nope, a very daft idea to sign up with them!
I checked them again out of interest a couple days ago, expecting that they would have put the prices up like everyone else - nope, still quoting 17p a unit! There's no way that's sustainable right now, it's well below the cap and even the cap is making energy companies a loss at the moment.
I reckon a lot of people have signed up to them in the past few weeks simply because they were the cheapest by far. Maybe NR were hoping loads of new sign ups on their "6 up, 6 down" payments where everyone pays more in the first 6 months would hold them over until things calmed down...0 -

Ive said before on this forum they looked a bit suspect - for example reducing the transfer time to one week rather than 3 weeks so they get more first direct debit payments in faster - also front loading the payments so you pay more in the first six months
I was just hoping they'd last at lease a couple of months more so i could get some value out of the tariffs
I doubt there will be many other people having to deal with 7 SOLR take overs either

Should I give another meter reading now then and take a screenshot or will it not make any difference and they will go off my last bill?0

I'm moving over from Bulb. To be honest I will probably continue with the transition as whoever the SoLR moves me to will be a tariff more or less the same as the one I'm moving from (unless I'm missing something?).1

If you do try then let us know how you get onCancelling your agreement
The 14 days cooling off period begins the day after you receive this welcome pack, or the day after your agreement with us started, whichever is the earliest. To cancel your agreement and for us to stop the process of switching your supply to Neon Reef, you must let us know within this time frame. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to supply your energy needs and appreciate you as a member, but if you change your mind and decide to cancel your agreement within the 14 days, you can do this by emailing us at help@neonreef.co.uk.
If you do email us please include the following information.
Name on the agreement Supply address
Supply start date
Phone number/Mobile number Email addressUnquote
Even though they did the transfer in 7 days they are still adhering to the 14 days cooling off period. So I could email them to cancel but they took the first payment of £82.00 yesterday. I'm think of getting that refunded. However going down the route of cancelling now and getting my money back will this be causing me bigger problems. Also I am sorry to hear things are not any better for you.
Perhaps the way forward is to let things stand and see what happens rather than over complicate matters.
