This is most interesting. Is this with hotmail? I have a gmail account and you can place a dot and it still comes through.worrywart_3 said:REM email address use your regular one and add +1 so for example if your email was adam@hotmaill.com use Adam+1@hotmail.com if will
come through to your regular email but will
bw recognised by the system differently.
adam@gmail.com but if you do a.dam@gmail.com it comes through too. This behaviour is very dependent on the mail server configuration. There are no universal rules on how to interpret the 'local part' of the email address (the bit before the @)

There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Send a test email to yourself - if it can't be delivered you'll get an error receipt.Telegraph_Sam said:Any tips from anyone concerned on how to do it with Yahoo Mail?

I know the dots in the name will not work with Yahoo as it treats them as meaningful and will not ignore them.Telegraph_Sam said:Any tips from anyone concerned on how to do it with Yahoo Mail?

Update on my situation:elucidate said:
Got an email from NR just after midnight that I'll be on supply on Sunday. Seems like they were serious in their six-day promise!elucidate said:I've also just signed to Neon Reef from Symbio. Nothing to lose really.
At the end of the signup process it says the whole switching process takes 6 days start to finish - and that I still get a 14 day cooling off period!
The welcome email says I'll be on supply with them in 8 days' time. Crazy stuff.
I wonder if the switch would have completed by the time E.on ask for Direct Debit... Could I just tell them to deduct the money from my Symbio credit?
Upon signup, NR said I'll be on supply on 12th.
Then they emailed me to say I'll be on supply on 10th, with the first DD coming out on 12th.
Today I got an email from Symbio saying today's my last day with Symbio.0 -
With the email I received from Symbio they requested a picture of the meter and meter read. However I thought our last day with them was on the 3rd Oct when E.ON Next took over the supply.elucidate said:

Hi. These really are the new Symbio (crap)
They don't bill you within 6 weeks. So Ofgem make it quite clear what happens. The supplier pays you £30. If they don't you get another £30. Then the refund should come through within 10 days. If they dlon't you get another £30. I am 100% due £120.
Neon Reef reply....Thank you for contacting us. I can confirm the compensation is capped to £60.00.
Therefore, your refund of £X.X (£60.00 compensation included) is correct.
No further compensation will be applied to your account.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Good luck all you people who are signing up in your droves. You won't know whats hit you.
