Like some of the contributors on this forum I too received an email today advising will be live with NR in two days. I gave them the meter reads online yesterday.  I double checked the meter serial no. was correct.  Also because Symbio is still shown as the supplier on the Distributors site I have given them the same reading and a photo of the meter. Also I rang E.on Next and they too took the final meter reading.

Also very impressed the app had now been updated showing my tariff, payments details. and everything to get the account set up.

Even if they only last a month I still will have saved some money and hopefully will benefit from the refer a family/friend scheme worth £50.00.

Has anyone had success in re-joining Neon Reef and expediting the process?  Their website is set up to only accommodate new customer applications - there is no option to re-activate one's account - and the only contact option is email, with a reply time of up to 5 days, which I imagine may be longer at this time.
What do you mean by "re-activate one's account"?

If you have voluntarily left Neon Reef, and now wish to be supplied again by them, you are effectively a new customer as far as sign up goes.

How much quicker do you want the process to be? They are already one of, if not the, fastest in the industry. If you apply direct, they will strive to complete your switch in 5 working days, as many have recently alluded to.
(Most suppliers still take 17-21 days to complete a switch)

Or are you perhaps claiming to be a victim of an errroneous transfer from Neon Reef? In which case, you will need to follow that process.
That is the crux of the problem - I attempted to register as a new customer but can't, as my email address "already exists".
Sounds like you just need to login to your old account & change the email address to something else

that will allow you to create a new account with your preferred email address
Managed to do it by using an old email address and a new account was created, with a start date of 18th October.  All of the other personal details are the same - name, address, direct debit - but it seems only my current email is registered as still being active and blocked the application.

I've also just signed to Neon Reef from Symbio. Nothing to lose really.

At the end of the signup process it says the whole switching process takes 6 days start to finish - and that I still get a 14 day cooling off period!

The welcome email says I'll be on supply with them in 8 days' time. Crazy stuff.
Got an email from NR just after midnight that I'll be on supply on Sunday. Seems like they were serious in their six-day promise!

I wonder if the switch would have completed by the time E.on ask for Direct Debit... Could I just tell them to deduct the money from my Symbio credit?
I've also had a similar email. It says something like 'if you gave us a meter reading we've sent it to your old supplier...' but they've not actually asked for a reading and there's nowhere to input one on that I can see.
You can input it after registering your Neon Reef account online.

Sometimes it can take a few days for the meter to be registered against the new online account
(this has happened to me on one of my transfers into Neon Reef)

So its not always possible to register your opening read on the day of the transfer if this happens

However once the meter does get registered allowing a read to be given you can provide the back dated opening read
  • You can submit meter readings on their website  from the drop down menu (top right of page)

It seems like my account isn't quiet active yet. I can log in, but there's no tariff information and nowhere to put a meter reading in.

You shouldn’t send a final reading to the old supplier on switch. The gaining supplier’s data collector has to validate the opening reading that you provided to it. Once validated - a process that can take up to 10 days- the readings are passed via industry data flows to both suppliers to open and close your accounts. The industry-validated reading may be different from the one that you provided. It follows that any bill that is generated by your old supplier with the readings that you provided may not be a Final Bill.

I know it is not required but I am not taking any chances. I am aware it has to go through a third party but I see no harm In all of them having  my final reading.

I've got a couple of days until my switch date.  Hoping they last for a while to get the cheap rates and £50 bonus credit.
