I switched to neon from pfp in 8 days too. not sure if being a previous customer makes any difference?

All my previous switches have taken at least 2 or 3 three weeks.

I thought the cooling off period was required to pass before the switch completes in case you change your mind.
the quicker switch seems to a very new thing ? e.g.

I switched one account to neon reef on september 3rd & it took 3 weeks

I started another switch yesterday (yes I know I probably should not have) & they are saying I will be billed from October 7th

Makes you wonder if there's a specific reason they are trying to onboard joiners so quickly ?

I'm hoping because utility point & neon reef were run by basically the same people that they,ve managed to insulate neon reef to some degree from the recent price shock by, for example, moving liabilities over to utility point (hopefully in a legal way if that was even possible)

Hoping for an influx of initial 'in advance' direct debits?

My switch went in 8 days. Hopefully, they won't go bust too quickly.

Hi.  I have had no replies from them.  I sent a 2nd one in captial letters (shouting) asking for a reply. It's just not on.  This is people's money.

I moved away from Neon Reef for my electricity supply on the 20th July. As I had not received a final bill I emailed them on the 13th September saying with exact figures showing I was in credit, and also that I was due £30 as my final bill had not been produced within the required 6 week timeframe. On the 16th I had a reply saying that they had generated the bill and would pay me the credit owed to me in addition to the £30. I completed a direct debit mandate later that day. Will monitor the situation after the weekend.

Update  On 20th September I received an email that I would get my credit within 10 working days. Money arrived on the 30th September exactly 10 working days after the final bill was generated.
  • @FishInGlass Hi. I’m interested in your statement that if your final bill is not produced within 6 weeks (of what, your official leaving date?), you are entitled to £30. Is this compensation? Who from, your old supplier? What if your supplier has gone bust - is the compensation due from the old supplier, or the SOLR?

I’m pretty sure that I must have been entitled to this on a couple of previous occasions.

The compensation is not due if your previous supplier has lost their licence, which is what happens if they trigger the SoLR process.

Interesting article. The big companies are not happy either, at having to take on thousands of displaced customers, and having to supply them at a loss. The SoLR scheme is seemingly at breaking point.
