However a bit surprised they are taking the first payment on 11 October. Looking at their terms and conditions they say I will not be on supply until 25 October. Also they are taken the payment before the cooling off ends.
Time frame taken from App
Today switch starts
in 16 days they will ask for the first meter read
in 19 days we will take your first payment
on the 25 October 2021 you are officially a Neon Reef customer.
In my case I applied to transfer via their website on the 29th & my supply is transferring on the 7th with the first DD taken the same day
This much quicker transfer they have only recently put in place may be because they are trying to survive by getting more new customer DD payments sooner
How long does it take to switch energy suppliers? For suppliers who have signed up to the Energy Switch Guarantee, it should take around 21 days to switch suppliers, but it can be quicker. However, most suppliers wait until the end of the 14-day 'cooling off' period to start the switching process.unquote

I've also just signed to Neon Reef from Symbio. Nothing to lose really.
At the end of the signup process it says the whole switching process takes 6 days start to finish - and that I still get a 14 day cooling off period!
The welcome email says I'll be on supply with them in 8 days' time. Crazy stuff.1 -

Also applied yesterday and have today heard from Symbio that I am planning to leave them.0 -
My app (android) only gives me the start date of 11th Oct 2021 & end date 10th Oct 2022, but the welcome email says supply start 11th Oct, date of agreement 3rd Oct & first payment due date 11th Oct. Also when i did the quote it picked up my E7 smart Smets 2 meter & quoted me for both Day & Night rates, but the welcome email & app give me only a lower single rate which was a nice surprise, just hope they manage to survive now.

I am also wanting to switch from Symbio, now e.on next, to Neon Reef. But I am encountering this error at the Neon Reef first step. "Unfortunately we’re currently not able to support your meter type". My meter is a SMETS1 single rate. Any ideas?0

Any ideas?I get the same message when I try to switch: I have an E7 meter with a radio teleswitch. But the were quite happy to supply me on their Aqua tariff from Feb 2020 until June 2021 ! I did email them pointing this out but they didn't reply. My usage is lower than average so perhaps they are only seeking users where they can immediately collect a largish DD?0

Ofgem say that my issue is most likely not my meter type. My domestic meter info is correct on the national database. The issue is more likely to be the transfer of information between suppliers. So, I need to wait until e.on next contact me. I have sent them a DM tweet but no reply yet.0
