Why post that on Neon Reef thread though?
Why not? It's all part of the bigger picture - or do you not want to be well informed, and up to speed?

Hi.  I know lots about Neon Reef.  I just don't think what you are posting is anything to do with them.
  • @SPOWER Sorry, I'll run any prospective posts past you first from now on, for review and approval.

Looks like they are not taking on new customers, an omen of a forthcoming announcement next week ?
Unfortunately we're currently unable to support your meter type.  We hope to be able to soon, so please consider us next time.

Or perhaps they have a new/higher tariff coming out

No issues here obtaining a quote for a single rate or E7 credit meter (smart or non-smart)

Are you sure your address is not associated with a PPM, E10 or similar meter?
(or maybe a radio teleswitched E7 meter? or has more than one MPAN?)

They've been saying that for at least a couple of weeks if you have an E7 meter.

Normal meter and used a few different addresses I know across the country.
Weird, checked places I know have single rate meters and will not quote, places that may have dual rate it quotes for.  Maybe a glitch then.

They introduced a new, additional 2 year fixed tariff option last Thursday.

Gas peaked at a wholesale price of over 7p/kWh yesterday. I guess no supplier will want to take on any new customers that could add to its losses. Switching could become very difficult in the next few months unless people are prepared to pay for some very high fixed tariffs.

I hope that Ofgem is now having a complete rethink about its plans to switch customers away from variable tariffs.
