@OldScientist Their chat facility is pretty permanently 'down'. I've never seen it working.0

That was strange as I also noticed with all previous switches it takes 2-3 weeks due to the cooling off period.Since the 20th there hasn’t been any communication, and no DD was taken as per the email. I have tried for 3 days to live chat but no one responds, and no reply to an email sent on 22nd.In normal times it wouldn’t be a huge concern, but now with failures everywhere I’ve realised it is quite difficult to get in touch with them (no phone number either).
Looking at the account online, when does it say the next payment is due? I note their chat facility was down until, I think, yesterday (for 'technical reasons')Not sure why some have a quick switch date but others have one 3 weeks ahead!1 -

Hi all. Seem to be a lot of experts on here so perfect place to ask the following!
have just had a new smart meter fitted to replace an Economy 10 meter so that I can finally switch!
Does anyone know how long the new meter takes to get registered on the meter asset register?
Until this is done I am struggling to switch.
Current supplier Outfox The Market and meter fitted by SMS.
Cheers all.0 -
Please take care with Neon Reef if you do manage to get someone on live chat. At the end it will ask if you want it emailing. When you enter your email address and press send, it won't actually send it. I have been caught out several times by it.0

Currently quoting me 17.23p SC and 16.498p kWh. Those numbers look sorely tempting right now but I just cannot see how they are in any way realistic for a tiny supplier in the current market. It just doesn't stack up!GingerTim said:Bust before Christmas is my guess.

I switched to neon from pfp in 8 days too. not sure if being a previous customer makes any difference?
All my previous switches have taken at least 2 or 3 three weeks.
I thought the cooling off period was required to pass before the switch completes in case you change your mind.1 -
I see that there are some comments about the length of time taken to switch to Neon Reef. They switched me very quickly on September 16 in about a week although I asked them to delay until September 30. I requested the delay as soon as they gave me the switch date they said it was too late. I was trying to use up my current tariff from EDF which ended on September 30. This early switch has cost me about £1/day. I was switched to EDF when Green Network Energy stopped operating. Neon Reef offered the second best rates after Symbio Energy (ceased trading yesterday, 29 September). At time of writing 12:27 on September 30, Neon Reef are still operating but as many commentators have mentioned it cannot be long before Neon Reef also cease trading. This will then start the tedious and tortuous process of being automatically switched to a new supplier. EDF have taken over six months to complete my switch from Green Network Energy. I tried to contact EDF many months before the current farrago started but even back then they were almost impossible to contact. Another enforced switch will also probably double my electricity costs which ae already sky high as I live in a rented accommodation, an old (very old) building inadequately heated by poor night storage heaters. I am stuck any able to afford to move, unable to afford my own home but I will be expected to finance this gross failure by government and the electricity suppliers. At the beginning of September, I contacted my MP (a Conservative) about this looming problem but he could not be bothered to respond.1

I thought the 14 day cooling off period was law, so they are disgregarding this and switching people sooner? I hope they don't go out of business, I am owed £240 in compensation from them for 2 accounts that have since moved. They previously were very good, both rates and customer service. I would not touch them with a barge pole now.0
