Someone I know signed up to Neon Reef yesterday was given switch completion date 6th October which is 9 days inclusive,  can someone who has applied to switch very recently say how many switching days it took to switch to Neon Reef ?

I did it at at the beginning of this month and it took 3 weeks. But it was about 11 days after my previous fixed deal with OFTM ended so I don't know if that caused it to take longer.
  • Someone I know signed up to Neon Reef yesterday was given switch completion date 6th October which is 9 days inclusive, I need to time my switch out from Igloo so as to be on supply with them on 17th October assuing they are still supplying by then, can someone who has applied to switch very recently say how many switching days it took to switch to Neon Reef ?
Signed up on the 8th September, switch completed on the 16th.

I helped switch a family member’s electricity only account on 13th and was given 20th for the switch. That was strange as I also noticed with all previous switches it takes 2-3 weeks due to the cooling off period.

Since the 20th there hasn’t been any communication, and no DD was taken as per the email. I have tried for 3 days to live chat but no one responds, and no reply to an email sent on 22nd.

In normal times it wouldn’t be a huge concern, but now with failures everywhere I’ve realised it is quite difficult to get in touch with them (no phone number either).

One might go so far as to guess that they didn't ever have any of their own staff in the first place and were dependent on the employees of Utility Point, who are now not available to run the company any more...
One can hope that they manage to keep the company going, but personally it is not somewhere I'd be rushing to move to at the moment...
  • I see that Igloo, Symbio and Enstroga have now all gone too. It's a bloodbath.
  • Shell are now claiming that I am their customer, after the collapse of Green, even though I received confirmation of a switch to Neon Reef on the 27th September. Of course, Green still owe me money, although fortunately I had managed to secure a refund of £150 a month ago, due to being so much in credit. This is due, of course, to all the suppliers requesting payment in advance by direct debit for the initial 'charge'.

OFGEM still insists everything in the garden is rosy, and there is nothing to worry about. Everything will come out in the wash. Eventually.

I am filled with confidence after the length of time the Yorks Elec/Scottish Power episode took to sort out. Meanwhile the big 5/6 cartel, allegedly, companies have to take on board hundreds of thousands of displaced customers, when their customer service is already appalling to start with.

Given the news about Igloo et al, revising this to bust before Hallowe'en.

Started switch to Neon on 7th September completed 28th, first DD taken on 28th...

Looking at the account online, when does it say the next payment is due? I note their chat facility was down until, I think, yesterday (for 'technical reasons')
