As it states against Tariff Type, it's a variable tariff, which is why there is no exit fee.  Ofgem is announcing the new energy price cap tomorrow, predicted to rise by 49%, and you can guarantee that's what BG will be using from April.
Well as they're going to be losing £500 - £600 for each account transferred to an "old" tariff, they have to make their money from somewhere. It's just ridiculous that the price cap regulations (which are designed to protect the lazy consumer to the detriment of the savvy consumer) are going to result in... the somewhat savvy consumer subsidising the very savvy consumer, and the lazy consumer being completely shafted.

The LRSPs start in April, are those factored into the cap?

Mmmm.....looking at the tariff that Together Energy customers are being moved over to...Welcome Together.....it has an end date of March 31st 2023...and its the same tariff as for Neon Reef customers ....can't see BG holding that tariff for over a year and two increases in cap !!!!
They don't make much sense, but I don't see what room BG have to change the price with the way the tariff is set up...

But it also says guaranteed til 31st March 2023 - looks like a promise to me ??

My final NR bill is estimated.
This hasn’t been sent to me (I can see it online).
i’ve had no request for payment.
i was advised (on here) to wait for the bills to match I.e. end reading of NR matches start of BG.
currently there’s a 1 month gap between NR ending 20/11 and BG starting 22/12.

    so I’m still waiting.

have you had a genuine final bill?
does it match up with the next?

This is what their FAQ page tells customers transferred from suppliers that ceased trading:

"We've created a new variable tariff for you in line with the energy price cap, it’s called Welcome [various names]. If you’re a Pay As You Go customer, you’re on our affordable Safeguard PAYG tariff.

When your account’s ready, you’ll be able to select a fixed tariff from our range, allowing you to lock-in the price of your energy, giving you peace of mind."

Note that sentence "..able to select a fixed tariff from our range.."

You can - but my account is set up and running after Neon Reef failure, 2 * DDs taken and I'm on the Welcome tariff with no pressure to move onto a fixed deal.

I've just had my first bill for BG for £123 for two months estimated usage at 532kWh.

Found this to be rather high so I submit a meter reading of 56,489 to find that the opening estimated reading was given at 57,161.  I never gave meter readings to neon reef so they estimate my usage at 220kWh per month while actual usage was averaging 94kWh.

I've paid my final bill to neon reef (taken by DD), I know I should have provided an opening reading to BG but I didn't.  Can I still get a refund from neon reef with them in administration?

Perusing online account, and "change my payment plan" ,  BG already offered me a slight reduction on my DD amount, which I accepted and is now updated. Might be worth checking if yours has already been reassessed to your benefit.
    I haven't even had a bill yet.

Note that the Safeguard PAYG tariff does not have a guaranteed date...
