Has there been confirmation that the current solr tariff to 31.07.22 won't be increased in April? I remember something about it not actually being a fixed tariff??
I was told by a chat agent (one on the complaints team) last week, when I specifically asked whether the tariff would remain at the same rates through to end of July, that this was the case and they would.  However, experience shows that chat agents don't always get it right (now there's a surprise...) but I at least have a transcript confirming this.

My own recent experience of a formal complaint is they won’t be bound by what their agents say if it’s a mistake and they say the ombudsman would also agree with that view.
however I think the tarrif will remain.

Lots of action here ... BG sent round a meter reader, and then billed me for the period from 3 December (using a plausible estimate) up to the actual meter reading.
Presumably they will go back and bill from 21 November (when they took over from Neon as SoLR) to 3 December later on, perhaps when Neon tell them the final reading they used? There is also a tiny debit balance on my last NR bill, which BG are apparently supposed to deduct from my balance with them (I guess when NR tell them about it, again).
It's now possible to set up a DD with BG online, so I've just done that. (I could have paid the actual bill instead. Depends what you prefer.)
With all the customers BG have inherited, I can't see them sending meter readers to every new customer's property! Wouldn't get round to billing until the next century.
Coincidently or not I have this evening had my electricity meter read for the first time in many, many years ...

I tend to agree, it is hard to get around the fact that the tariff is listed with a price guaranty end date.

Mmmm.....looking at the tariff that Together Energy customers are being moved over to...Welcome Together.....it has an end date of March 31st 2023...and its the same tariff as for Neon Reef customers ....can't see BG holding that tariff for over a year and two increases in cap !!!!

BG have raised their first bill - can't see the details yet but the total amount appears to break down as from the first meter read given to BG (not the final Neon Reef read) and doesn't include the carried over debt owed to NR. Despite the obvious shortfall , the opening page still exhorts me to reduce my DD as it thinks I will be in several hundred pounds credit "at contract end" !!

The one thing I like about BG is you can set up a variable DD to just pay your bill each month as you would do with phone, broadband or any other bill. None of this credit / deficit nonsense.

They don't make much sense, but I don't see what room BG have to change the price with the way the tariff is set up...

IF they honour the tariff for ex TE customers thru two increases in cap ,then it's going to be the bargain of the century !!

As it states against Tariff Type, it's a variable tariff, which is why there is no exit fee.  Ofgem is announcing the new energy price cap tomorrow, predicted to rise by 49%, and you can guarantee that's what BG will be using from April.
