NR final statement still reads the same as a month ago , using an estimated read for 20th November.
At the same time BG account has opening read from 6th December and no mention of debit being carried over from NR - in fact the nagging messages are getting "louder" as their strange algorithms are estimating that I will be in ever more sizeable credit at the end of the contract and want me to reduce my DD even further !!

BG got me totally confused.  My supply started and I sent them a meter reading on 3rd December.  I sent them another meter reading without being asked on 3rd January.  They messaged me yesterday asking for a reading but when I went into the App it said readings are up to date.   They have emailed me today asking for a reading within 14 days but the App still says "You are up to date with your meter readings".  So do they want one or not?

Presumably you are up to date with your readings until the 14 days have elapsed. In the meantime, there's nothing stopping you from providing BG with a reading.

Just had my first bill from British gas, using my opening read from 7 December, SVT for the first day and Zero Fixed October 2022 for the rest of the month, minus £30 goodwill credit it cost me under £9 for a month's use.

Looks like the energy use from 21st November to 6 December might be complementary.

Can't recall but has anyone that was in credit with NR had their Final Final bill to 20 Nov yet?

I was in debit for a small amount with them and received mine on 14th Dec with final reading being just about spot on (as I had submitted readings on 15 Nov and 21 Nov).  Plus I have had my first BG invoice a few days ago.

However,  the last bill my stepdaughter has received was issued on 6th Nov covering to 1st Nov.  As of that bill she was in slight credit (plus a further DD taken on on 1 Dec has put her about £25 in credit per the app, although the DD doesn't show on the billing tab either on app or web portal).  We submitted readings on 15 Nov and 21 Nov and we can see those readings plus an estimate for 20 Nov on the web portal (in exactly same manner as shows on mine).

Just find it strange NR still haven't produce her final final bill yet especially given they seemed to be able to issue bills for those in debit around a month ago.

On the BG web portal it shows a meter read on 3rd Dec with zero cumulative consumption against it, suggesting its the opening read they are taking. Although no bill has been produced and a zero balance still shows on her account on the summary page, when we put in a reading on 11 Jan it did come up and say that total to date was around £85 (but it wouldn't appear on the account for a few days) which equates to the amount between 3 Dec and 11 Jan, which seems to add further indication they are using 3 Dec reading as opening one

The BG 'Welcome Neon Reef' page was (apparently) updated yesterday, 13th Jan. As usual, it's difficult to spot any new information.
    https://www.britishgas.co.uk/solr/neon-reef.html

However, this would seem to be important if you are nowhere near sorted.

What’s happening now - key information

All Neon Reef customers have been contacted by text, email or letter. If you haven’t heard anything from us yet, please check your email spam folder.

Talks with the administrators and other parties for the closure of Neon Reef accounts have now been finalised. Please see the “Final bills from Neon Reef” section below for detailed information about customer final bill and any credit refunds – we are in the process of understanding credits and debits that need to be applied and will contact you and let you know the amount.

    Also

Final bills and balances from Neon Reef

We've now completed talks with the administrators and can confirm that we will take on both customer credits and debits. The administrators are currently working through what final bills will be issued and we will update you as soon as we have more information.

It’s a good idea to make a record of your latest meter reading, this will make sure your final balance is based on your actual energy usage. You might also want to keep a copy of your most recent Neon Reef statement and keep it in a safe place. If you can’t find one, a screenshot of your account balance would work well too.

    Not necessarily

the NR administrators could later issue another bill on behalf of BG for that period & the amount due could be  transferred over to BG

However I can also see a scenario where BG might just write it off because the costs involved in producing such bills are not worth the return especially if BG are not actually footing the bill themselves & its coming from the communal Ofgem(?) fund instead

They have not done so with other SoLR transfers and no reason to assume they intend to do so this time, Ofgem would not let them claim for usage they just hadn't bothered to charge for...

Not true - still haven't heard anything from BG or NR.

I'm still submitting monthly meter reads to NR, just so they know I'm still here

To clarify, this quote is from the BG website:
    https://www.britishgas.co.uk/solr/neon-reef.html

It relates to BG claiming to have contacted all affected former NR customers.
It does not imply that NR have contacted their former customers.

If you have checked your email spam folder and feel sure that BG have not yet contacted you (and think they should have), I suggest you get in contact with BG giving them details of your NR account.

You might also want to check first with your DNO who they have as your registered electricity supplier.
