Yep reading has arrived on BG site, now just waiting for the refund from NR0

so far it looks like on my account BGas are charging from December 3rd from the reading I gave them on this date
whereas the NR final bill showed NR tariff charges up to November 20th
So for the period November 21st to December 2nd I have not (yet) been charged
I am wondering if they are writing this off to keep things simple ?0 -
Just received clarification from BG chat on that. Similar to you I gave a reading on Dec 2nd, which appeared on my NR account yesterday. I haven't been billed by NR yet so everything up until then will be settled on that account.Inigo_Montoya said:so far it looks like on my account BGas are charging from December 3rd from the reading I gave them on this date

I thought we were paying BG standing charges from Nov 21st, but apparently all charges with BG start from when they requested a meter reading, which was Dec 2nd.0 -
When I contacted Neon Reef they said the charges would be recalculated up to 3 December. If that is the case it would appear we would be charged Neon Reef's rates.jrio said:

Thanks for that, if that happens I'll end with £26 credit.CRISPIANNE3 said:When I contacted Neon Reef they said the charges would be recalculated up to 3 December. If that is the case it would appear we would be charged Neon Reef's rates.0 -
Could get messy. My first BG read has been recorded as 6th Dec. !!CRISPIANNE3 said:

Was hoping that the units used between NR's "final" statement and the 6th would get lost HOWEVER quite like the idea of paying NR for units up to 6th as it will save ~ £150 -
I requested a smart meter from British Gas only yesterday. The guy is here fitting it now. How good is that! I’ve tried in the past to get EdF to install one and they failed, twice. Just didn’t turn up. The difference is that BG uses its own people, EdF uses a third party.1

Out of interest. If you have a separate company for gas and electricity do you need to arrange smart meters separately ?0

My initial reading is now showing & I apparently can now set up a fixed monthly DD online if I agree with their amount.DiseasedBunny said:Anyone else still waiting for BG to show the initial reading? I’ve entered it at least 3 times now and still both the app and account don’t show it
However, their suggested DD amount is more than 2.5x what I reckon it should be given my usage ...0 -
Mine was the same so I just went on chat and they set it up for the amount I said it should be.BUFF said:
