    If I click on to tab to make payment the following message appears *There's no need to do anything as your Variable Direct Debit payment will cover anything owed to us on your chosen payment date.* I suggest you try it and see what is says.

    NR account now has an estimated reading showing for 28th November, was previously the actual read I'd entered for 22nd November. Still no final bill yet though & currently billed to 28th October (but that bill revised recently to say Final Bill, even though it isn’t).


    Are you sure its the 28th ? Mine has an estd read for 20th after I entered actual on 22nd.

    Same as @brewerdave here. NR used an actual reading of mine on 22/11 to back-adjust to an estimated reading for 20/11 (i.e. slightly reduced), which must be the date that either NR, or the Administrator, is using as the effective date of closure or transfer. I agreed with that calculation, which leaves me with £20 to pay 'NR', as I cancelled my DD immediately after they went (16th?). End of story for NR as far as I am concerned. So just BG to finalise going forward.

    As long as BG use the same estimate to open your account. What is currently happening with my BG account doesn't fill me with confidence as there is no sign of the reading I've given them and in fact the account status has dropped back to not yet ready for meter reading!!

    Yes, definitely says the 28th Nov at the moment.  28th was my original bill cycle date.  Hoping it all gets corrected when they do actually produce a correct/valid Final bill, i'm obviously towards the end of the current billing run...

    So do they only check usage vs payment twice a year?

    Not received final bill from NR but was paying £75 DD and estimate account will be £120 in credit.
    Yes, they adjust your payment twice a year to suit usage but charge you monthly.
