  • Yes, but who uses a postal address these days, unless as an absolute legal necessity?

Moreover, I have found it quite useful on various occasions to contact the Administrator direct, as an interested party, especially when the defunct company under administration is being ‘difficult’ or evasive.

The Joint Administrators do, of course, have names, and they are only too keen to point out, on every available occasion, that they have no personal liability.

You will have to enlighten me as to what you mean by correcting Administrator to Employer.

You will have to enlighten me as to what you mean by correcting Administrator to Employer.
The individuals are the appointed Administrators, not their employer.
A technicality, but perhaps an important one as matters relating to the administration could not be properly delivered to their employer and may or may not be passed on in a timely manner.

Logged into NR and now has my final bill up though has only billed me to 15 Nov rather than 21. Said any outstanding debt would be collected via direct debit after 10 days but nothing was taken during that period and NR changed the DD to zero. I have since cancelled it. I owe c£20. Presume the administrators will contact me in due course for payment.
Are you sure it is not the Final statement? Some contributors may be getting confused with a final bill and the final statement.  I know I did and NR advised me the final bills will take us up to 3 December.
It is the Final Statement but it reads as though this is the final amount to be settled as it says:

IMPORTANT: This is your final statement from Neon Reef.
If your account shows a debit balance, you owe this amount to Neon Reef. For customers with a direct debit, a direct debit will be taken from your account 10 days after this statement, up to a maximum of £300.
If this direct debit is likely to cause financial concerns, please contact your bank to cancel this payment.
For balances in excess of £300 or customers without a direct debit in place, the Joint Administrators' team or an appointed collection agent will be in touch in due course about the settlement of outstanding amounts.
If your account shows a credit balance, you are owed this amount, which will be honoured by British Gas in line with the Supplier of Last Resort process. Further information and contact details are available on their website at the following link: www.britishgas.co.uk/solr/neon-reef
With my final statement it states the amount of electricity used is £51.00 and then they have added on the cancelled dd for £82.00. When in fact from the time I joined them on the 11th October up until the 17th  November the total amount owed was only £51.00.  However the statement is saying I have to pay £133.00.

When I contacted them I was told the whole account would be recalculated up to the 3rd December. So we shall see what happens then.

  • I'm still in the position of not having received any emails whatsoever from British Gas nor NR.

Was originally with PfP and went to British Gas as SoLR. Switched to NR on 12th Oct but they didn't take the DD that month. They did on 12th November. Submitted my readings yesterday on NR app. Not surprised they didn't take the DD today. So have only paid one DD. Rather owe them than the other way around.

I presume at some point BG will contact me. But have no idea of whom I'm paying and what dates will apply?

Why don't you ask your DNO for your meter history?
  • Good advice. I got mine from Northern Powergrid for my records, so it is something the DNO will do if asked.
  • My DNO list NR as my supplier

If you ask them for your meter history you'll be able to see when you were switched to NR.

I know I became a customer of NR on 12th Oct. What I don't know is whom I will eventually pay for what. Because as of today I am still a NR customer (in theory)

I wonder what would happen if I instigated a switch to another energy provider before getting transferred to BG.

Possibly this could be a nightmare.

If you try switching now the switch will likely fail as the switch to BG will almost certainly be in progress. As the discussion above illustrates, legally you're deemed to have been supplied by BG from 21 November, so BG are entitled to bill you from that date onwards. If your switch to them goes through then they will bill you accordingly, if you switch to someone else first there is at least some doubt about whether their IT systems can cope with this and prior experience with other SOLR processes suggest you might get away with a couple of weeks of free electricity.
