I cancelled my DD when NR went bust. This was shortly after a payment on 12 Nov.
I then signed up to an expensive BG tariff prior to SoLR appointment in the hopes of getting onto Zero Fixed.
I received no welcome email and thus didn't set up an account at the outset.
BG were then appointed SoLR and I dutifully "reset" my password, with the usual "Something went wrong" message appearing on login.
Then received a letter saying I'll be switched onto tariff I signed up for, and go on supply on 7th.
Got cold feet and utilised cooling off process so that I get put onto the Welcome tariff. Since then, when I log in, it just says "switch cancelled".
Even when they emailed me to give my meter reading, I had to do so via the section of the site where you submit a reading without logging in.
So I seem to be stuck in some kind of purgatory.

That sounds awkward.elucidate said:... So I seem to be stuck in some kind of purgatory.
I'm sure it will get sorted out eventually but I can't imagine there are many others in your position!

The answer is the same as always - you’ll need to wait.
mine was cancelled 27/11 and my supply starts 22/12.
I doubt very much either of us will receive any free energy.
you will just be starting later because you switched and then cancelled.
I am expecting the dates to end up being somewhat arbitrary I.e. I’m not expecting free energy,
just put your money to one side if you need to.0 -
If anybody has Hive Heating and has registered for the BG Rewards there is an offer just appeared for 12 months free Hive Heating Plus.
I had actually just started the one month free trial a week or so ago and when I tried adding the Rewards offer to my Hive account it wouldn't accept it due to current subscription so I had to go on chat and get the live subscription cancelled (which was done straightaway) and now I have been able to apply the Rewards 12 month free offer.
There's not a huge amount of extra useful info you get from the 'paid' version vs the free version (wg annual/weekly vs just daily data, £ as well kWH, strange sort of budgeting facility that doesn't seem to take account of hot water and can't really know how much your boiler consumes) so I wouldn't have paid after the free month ran out but worth having the 12 months for free though.
By the way the 3 months free house insurance offer is pretty good as well. Used that a few months ago when it came up before just at the right time for my renewal and it was cheaper than the other quotes (and with better cover than most of them as well)0 -
Neon Reef not exactly covering themselves in glory here. Why doesn’t that surprise me?0

Telling me they have to come out and change the meter as it is sending the wrong readings considering everything else has been slow was taken aback when they wanted an engineer to call on the 14th December to do this I am getting really stressed out now as I am happy with the meter I have and inputting my own readings as the smart functions haven't worked since I left Utilita over 18 months ago, ivanleo said:
Yes I had the same issue, set up a dispute via the chat and it will take six weeks to sort out 🙄allison445 said:Anyone else had there meter reading appear on there BG account mine has just appeared and it not the one I gave them its saying its from my smart meter end reading with neon reef 18457 opening reading British gas 7872.

@CRISPIANNE3 You always seem to have had a hot line to Neon Reef, where others can’t get anywhere, even when you were seemingly messing them about with chopping and changing your switch and direct debit. I presume you are still on their Christmas card list? 😉0

I do not have any special powers and like anyone else I just email them on their help line. I did and got a very speedy reply.Deleted_User said:@CRISPIANNE3 You always seem to have had a hot line to Neon Reef, where others can’t get anywhere, even when you were seemingly messing them about with chopping and changing your switch and direct debit. Also I would appreciate it if you do not make personal digs at me on what has happened with my past dealings.1 -
I'm stuck in a similar situation and it says "switch cancelled" when I log in as well. However BG have not emailed me asking for a meter reading yet. I guess they'll catch up with me eventuallyelucidate said:I cancelled my DD when NR went bust. This was shortly after a payment on 12 Nov.
