My electric switch to NR went live on 25.1.21 and still not able to enter meter readings. They claim that they escalated and keep making promises that they will chase the industry.
Either NR or the industry are the issue, but surely it shouldnt take this long to have meter readings verified, or is this all due to switching from SOLR Scottish Power?

It's another one of dozy Ofgem's triumphs, The Mysterious Third Party !  They can take six weeks to call you a liar (even if you have photographic evidence) and dream up an arbitrary figure that they think you should have supplied.

My electric switch went live on 26/01/2021 and I have the same problem and the same excuses. Looking at the 1 and 2 star reviews on Trustpilot it seems NR seem to have a lot of problems with delays in getting meter details verified from the 'industry'.

I have just been reading reviews on Trustpilot, to which Neon Reef replied to one, saying that if you have not sent any updated meter readings, they send out a reminder, a few days before your bill is generated.
Anyone know if this is this is the case.

They've sent an email reminder to my stepdaughter today for this months reading

I moved into a new place late last month and switched from inherited EDF to NF from 24th March
Initially the online account didn't state the tariff (Ocean) but it does now and my initial reading seems to be accepted etc and direct debit set up. I'm hoping a referral link  I used will show up but I think that will take a bit longer.

It's about 30 days from switch completion before referral credit is added.  If you don't get by then I suggest you contact them using Chat facility and query it.

Look on terms 2.18 on their referrer scheme T&C's:   https://www.neonreef.co.uk/referral_scheme/

"....  upon cancellation of a User’s Neon Reef account for any reason, any Rewards accumulated by the User are forfeited."

So basically, as your account will always be in credit, when you change provider or they go out of business, you will lost the referrer bonuses anyway!

Been with them since September. DD is set at 1/12th your estimated consumption, first payment taken at the start of contract.  Their actual reading date for me has been a bit iffy but their estimates have always been pro rated to the actual read given.  Never had to contact them, switch went fine, so don't know what their CS is like.
Have finally cracked it.  My billing date is one day before the last day of the month and my daughter's is two days. Only taken me since September to figure it out :(

  • I send meter reading on 28th, but they still add esitmate for one day. I wasn't able to work out when to send it, to make sure it's the right day.

    No meter reading reminders.

Check bill for the read date used and it is either likely to be a fixed date or x days from eom.
