They need to get it sorted quickly before some really big casualties fall eg Bulb ,Together Energy .......Shedman said:
Guess it might take longer than usual as they've probably had to drag the likely contenders kicking and screaming to the table to take on even more potentially costly customers.Ignite said:Well, if the past SOLRs are anything to go by, we may hear today who has been appointed to sort out the mess of NR.
If I was placing bets on who it will be, I would probably go for E.ON Next.0 -
*forms sign of cross*. Back! Back, I say!Shedman said:I'd be quite pleased if it was Scottish Power as they are bound to screw things up and in the past its been favourable to me (mind you its been likewise with BG Evolve) 😅

Are we best to take daily meter reads at the moment? Do we enter on to our account, if possible?
I know it's not advised, but I have cancelled my £200 DD due 28th as we're already significantly in credit.
I can't be bothered at the moment trying to do a switch away while we wait for SOLR to be appointed, i know there might be a saving to be had, but the whole market seems so unstable & each failure you get caught up in is proving to be a royal pain to get sorted & is taking soooooo long to get resolved.0 -
I was with PFP and SoLR'd to British Gas, my account was opened with BG but I manage to get away to Neon Reef.
If I log in to BG, I have an account, but no supply as I am not a customer.
Reading though the BG Zero Fixed Oct 22 posts, I decided to give it a go (yes, before I find out who the Neon Reef SoLR will be).
The chat conversation felt a bit surreal, and I'm not confident that it will work out as smoothly as the agent was...Agent (xxxxx) enters chatAgent: Hi, we’re sorry for the long wait. We’re currently experiencing a sudden spike in chat volumes today, but I’m here to help take care of things for you.Me: Hello, I would like to move my gas to BG Zero Fix Oct 22 pleasemy neighbour requested it this morning (via chat)Agent: SureI will be happy to help you please confirm your email address and address for verification purpose?Me: (email) and (address)Agent: Thanks for confirmingThanks for waiting it has been done and you will receive a confirmation within 7 working daysMe: thank youwhat date will the Zero Fixed Oct 22 (Electricity) tariff commence from?Agent: By today's dateMe: ok thank you, I will wait for the email detailsAgent: Sure, Be rest assured that everything has been taken care of for you
That. was. it.
I am not an existing customer, but it felt far too easy - is this likely to work as the agent stated?
I've received the chat transcript by email if it's needed.

How can it start from today's date when you are presently a customer of another firm and the transfer process traditionally takes three weeks or so?SamDude said:I was with PFP and SoLR'd to British Gas, my account was opened with BG but I manage to get away to Neon Reef.

I'm taking meter readings daily, just in case. I can't update website, because Neon Reef doesn'even have my proper meter number online. They were supposed to update it, but it didn't happen yet. I sent them email with meter reads before they died. So there's history of my opening read and subsequent ones. I also cancelled direct debit. I'm glad I gave lower estimated usage and paid lower DD. At least, they won't keep too much of my money.AbbieCadabra said:Are we best to take daily meter reads at the moment? Do we enter on to our account, if possible?

PfP is sitting on my £200. So I don't want to sponsor too many companies.

Is there any guidance as to what to do if we're moving out of our house while the SOLR is not appointed, or what the new owners should do when they move in? The SOLR will only be passed my details by NR, despite us possibly having moved out by the time that happens.
I'll be taking readings when we move out, but I've no idea what happens after that. As if moving house wasn't stressful enough!0 -

----Your supplier or their appointed administrator will contact you at your old home address. You may want to consider redirecting your post if this affects you.
Take a meter reading for your old and new property for your records. The new supplier we appoint will explain how to settle any account balances, including how they will return any money you may have owed if your account is in credit.
----
When are you planning to move out? I would expect the SoLR provider to be announced in the next 24 hours.

. Google was not my friend when trying to search for that information. We've got most of next week, so hopefully the SOLR will be in place by then. 0
