The longer they take the better for us especially those of us on cheap fixed tariffs. They normally seem to backdate the start with the SOLR from the day before the announcement (although sometimes its been same day).Ignite said:Well, this is the longest that it has taken to appoint a SOLR so far. They must be having a little trouble getting someone to take everything over.
Not sure it is the longest yet anyway as they announced Bluegreen ceasing on 1 Nov and SOLR on 8th
(Omni, Zebra et al took 6 days 2Nov to 8 Nov)0 -
As above, the longer the take the longer we're on supply with NR. On the upside, I've managed to register a BG account today and can see that my switch is in progress, with a supply start date of 7 December.0

Tbh the customer profile for NR customers probably isn't attractive to other suppliers - I imagine that we are all savvy skinflints & very willing to jump to another supplier to save money so unlikely to stick around once things go back to normal. & in the meantime they would be making a loss on every one on the SVR ...Deleted_User said:Neon Reef must be the poison chalice. Ofgem usually like to announce these things late afternoon, so they can go home before the excrement hits the extractor, and spoil everyone’s evening. Allegedly.0 -
As I asked in the other thread you posted this in:ivanleo said:As above, the longer the take the longer we're on supply with NR. On the upside, I've managed to register a BG account today and can see that my switch is in progress, with a supply start date of 7 December.
Which tariff did you sign up to online?
What are the rates?
Are there any early exit fees?
Are you sure it was British Gas, and not British Gas Evolve?

Based on the numerous posts by others in this very thread???
Haven't all the savvy skinflints already signed up to BG Zero Fixed Oct 2022 ?

The customer profile of many (most) of the small less well known suppliers is the serial switchers who are more than happy to keep switching to the lowest cost tariffs. The fact they are with the small unknown supplier in the first place demonstrates this.dbks said:

This was the case before the current energy crisis where the SoLR would probably make a small profit on each customer even if they switched quickly. When you add in today's market where new supplies on the Ofgem cap will likely be loss making from day one, then being a SoLR is not an attractive proposition.0 -
Only time will tell if that was savvy or chasing fool's gold ... :Pdbks said:

If British Gas has induced someone to switch based on a promise of a given tariff, legally they cannot renege on that. They will know that if they were to try, they'd have an awful lot of ombudsman & small claims court cases to deal with.BUFF said:

**Word of Warning - Zero Fixed Oct 22 Tariff**
After following this board (Ex Neon Reef customer) and the Zero Fixed Oct 22 board I decided to switch to this tariff. I managed to have an online chat on Friday evening with one of the agents who after checking to see I can move to this tariff said it was available to me. During the chat I confirmed two times that I was interested in only transferring my electricity supply to Zero Fixed Oct 22. Again, he confirmed this was fine and went ahead and setup my account.
However, I received an email on Saturday stating that British Gas were happy to have me as their customer and were now in the process of taking over my gas supply! Please be very careful with what these agents are conforming to you. They are lying and being in my opinion fraudulent ~ this tariff is an old tariff and does not really exist.

I was originally advised to select a tariff and I would be able to change to the Oct 22 one once the transfer was complete. . I spoke to another advisor who said that tariff was now defunct and said I was given the incorrect information.SalMoh said:**Word of Warning - Zero Fixed Oct 22 Tariff**
