For all those who keep worrying about BG not honouring the zero 2022 fix: If British Gas confirms that that tariff is available to you and you switch in reliance of that commitment, that is part of the legally binding contract between you and British Gas. If they purport to repudiate it, they'd have to contend with the Ombudsman or the small claims court, neither of which would let them get away with it. The agreed rate is the rate that you have agreed with British Gas, regardless of what tariff might appear on your account.
Their ability to refuse to honour the fix zero 2022 tariff is no more greater than their ability to move you from whatever tariff you're on to a 10 year fix at £39.00 per unit (i.e. zero). You are legally bound to pay them at the agreed rate, they are not legally entitled to collect a penny more.1 -

And, now I have to wait again in a queue to make sure, they don't put me on their expensive tariffs, because prices are crazy. I would rather take chance with SOLR, than end up with standard BG tariff of 39p per 1kWh.
What are the chances of Bristol Energy or Utility Warehouse to survive? Don't want to move to 3rd company this year only to learn it's dead in a month.1 -

"Good morning,Thank you for your email. It is with deep sadness that we have ceased trading, but please feel assured your credit will be secure under OFGEM’s safety net. Any credit will be transferred to the new appointed supplier no credit will be lost.
OFGEM are working to have a Supplier of Last Resort appointed and as soon as a new supplier has been appointed you will be updated. We would recommend not cancelling any Direct Debits, and If you are able to, take a meter reading and update this via your online account"
I have zero sympathy for them and I feel they have been downright dishonest to their customers.
New supplier was 12 months fixed with PFP Energy, now also gone under. Credit wasn't transferred to them.
I have a small debit balance with PFP as they failed to set up the DD correctly, so that will transfer to BG in time, but will be interesting to see what hurdles I now find in trying to get Neon's credit back, now that PFP have also gone.1 -

Just helped a family member get the British Gas deal (We should both get an Amazon Gift Card referral too).
It was a nightmare on Live Chat, but make sure you click on the 'Envelope' icon at the bottom of the chat window to make sure you receive an email of the chat transcript afterwards for proof.1 -
I signed up yesterday but have received zero emails from BG to confirm my order. Has anyone else had the same problem?0
