Although I joined on the 11 October they will not be taking my payment now until the 11 Dec ember. So at the moment it is a win win situation for me because so far no payments have been made.
However the reason for the delay in payments was because I panicked reading through a lot of negative posts and requested the switch be cancelled. Because Symbio was now insolvent they could not put me back to them hence reason I remain with NR.
So if it were not for the doom mongers I would have already paid monies on account. A big thank to the doom mongers for making this situation possible.
But that you recalled that payment under the DD guarantee 2 days later?
The DD guarantee states that:
"If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to"
Whether or not Neon Reef do ask you to pay it back, I don't know.
But I think I read that Neon Reef apply aditional charges for DD payments not honoured (unless you make alternative payment by the end of the same day)
I wonder if they will waive that charge for you too?0 -

It's an odd situation because at the moment they are still supplying energy to their customers, as they have to maintain this until an SOLR is appointed. Even after that point they are in administration, rather than a business that has ceased to function at all.0

The fact that a company has ceased trading does not automatically impact their computer systems. I can still log into the customer portals for both Symbio and Green Energy.0

'ceased trading' gives the wrong impression, these companies go into administration once Ofgem agrees a SoLR and then the company continues to function under the management of the appointed administrator. That can mean that some staff are still employed and to whatever extent the administrator can justify, parts of the business continue to operate so the maximum value for the creditors can be extracted from the company. The bit that cannot continue is energy supply as they lose their license the moment they go into administration.Customers typically see the DD collections continue as many will owe money to the company for energy supplied up to the appointment of the SoLR, so it doesn't just stop when they 'cease trading'...1

Also I left Symbio just after they went into administration and as yet still not received the closing bill from them. I Joined Neon Reef on the 11 October and I still do not know if my readings have ever been validated as there is no indication on my first statement from NR.0 -
I wasted 2h on BG chat trying to get anywhere with joining them and getting put on Fixed Zero Oct 2022. I was disconnected twice when I was transfered to another agent. And, now I have to wait again in a queue to make sure, they don't put me on their expensive tariffs, because prices are crazy. I would rather take chance with SOLR, than end up with standard BG tariff of 39p per 1kWh.
What are the chances of Bristol Energy or Utility Warehouse to survive? Don't want to move to 3rd company this year only to learn it's dead in a month.
