Some people lack imagination or desire to see potential or do work. They are ideal customers for shiny shiny new builds with tiny gardens and cardboard walls.eidand said:
I suppose people are different. For me, these are cosmetic issues, easily fixable with a bit of work and paint. Colours of walls, doors etc is far less important, in my book anyway, then location, size, layout, garden etc. But that's just mecsgohan4 said:
what if the interior had fluorescent green walls? We discovered this when we stripped the wall paper, took three coats to cover this. I doubt people would continue looking without a headacheeidand said:
i very much doubt a selling point for a house is the colour of the front door ...getmore4less said:We put a blue door in looks like we may need to change that again if we want to sell.

We've had 4 viewings this week, first two seem so, so keen, especially the second couple, asking loads of questions, sat talking for 20 minutes, asked if they could bring their parents for a viewing on the house, saying how much they loved the area, and everything about the house.
People don't always say exactly what they think. Perhaps they just thought your house was overpriced. They make us wait 6 days to come back to us, then they say "the master bedroom was a bit small so not gonna offer".... Its frustrated me so much! (Its not even small, we have an ensuite and a huge bed lol)
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

We viewed about 20 houses before we found the one we bought. All of them were shown to us by agents with the vendors absent. Some of the agents were very poor at selling the house and some were downright awful, just letting us in and standing downstairs while we went round ourselves. Only in one instance did the agent do an actual sales job and it was unfortunate that the house didn't work for us.
Some of the agents round here have contract staff to do viewings and it shows. Not being able to open the front doors, not knowing which garage comes with the house, not knowing the direction the garden faces. All basic stuff. If I were a vendor I'd be furious that I would be paying a couple of thousand pounds for such a poor service.
Oh and I just remembered the agent who wouldn't let us view the house because there was an open day booked for a week ahead. The house never sold and is now off the market."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

It's funny what people consider good and bad service. When viewing properties I absolutely *hated* the EA trying to sell me the property. I would much rather they wait outside will I look around in my own time!pimento said:We viewed about 20 houses before we found the one we bought. Edge of the seat stuff, excellent, can just imagine the HPI collective sending out "3k...3k...3k...and the garden shed goes with the seller" across the psychic telegraph wires.Scythi said:
