Thank you all!
I am cancelling yesterday, due to it's sheer hellishness, & my eyes are like 2 wee-wee holes in the snow.....
First, a certain benefits surprise assessment interview, which I hoped would go well so I could go back to work, didn't. Stupid brain...
Second, trying all day to sort out a relative's health, e-mails back and forth, telephone call from GP before finally getting a face to face appointment for them at 4pm. At least the relative has better meds....Brain hurts.
Third, poor neighbour suddenly passed away yesterday, only knew something was wrong when ambulance pulled up outside early evening. Feel terrible, heard her little dog barking (very common for it to do for everything), but was rushing to get to GP for my relative, so I could be there for them. She had passed away that same afternoon, unknown to me at the time, so her poor little dog was sounding the alert... Jesus....
Her family came to tell me. Thankfully, it doesn't look as if she suffered (probable heart attack), they said she looked peaceful. I was really only starting to get to know her, helped her out, the usual neighbourly things, like putting the bins out & back for her (mobility problems), and other little things. Still in shock...
Just had to tell the tradesman who came to fit her new door half an hour since, as she was having some work done, what has happened, but, have no contact number for him for her family to let them know.
Life can be very horrible sometimes....
Trying to readjust brain to money saving. I have done a bit more on survey so made a little bit although it doesn't seem to matter much today....

I'm sorry to hear about your neighbour and the little doggy, hopefully it will receive a load of love to counteract the confusion. Do not feel bad, you wouldn't have known there was anything wrong, as you said it yapped at everything.
Hopefully relative has had a better time with the new meds, if not ask for some different ones.
Life throws things our way which does make us stop, think, evaluate and decide which path to take.
I hope you're ok, sending virtual hugs.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Thanks Babs, I am ok really, just tough things seem to all come at the same time. It's much harder for the neighbours family, they are in bits.... and her poor little dog, hope they are looking after her with lots of cuddles.
They have taken her home with them...
Relative is sorted thankfully for now, which is good as it gives me a break, hence wandering around on here when I should be cleaning/cooking etc. there are slightly bendy veggies which I need to cook calling me from the fridge..
Money saving has lapsed a bit into money spending - not too horrendous, avoided junk food, however I have been craving and eating a lot of toast and marmalade (no I am not Paddington), and waist line is expanding (again), blasted carbs....
So, money saving catch up this week will be looking at what is curling up in the fridge, and cooking it, possible roast veg/soup something easy for the brain - my chop and chuck technique. Better do that now before the waistband gets any tighter.... Why did I say toast, now I want toast again!"...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

At least they took the little furball with them.
I would suggest that Danish sliced bread, but the risk is eating more to have the same satisfaction as normal bread.
You can burn off what you eat, try not to add extra pressure to maintain / lose weight. That will be dealt with when everything else settles down.
Spending is ok, as long as it's kept within your budget.

What a scary shock you have had no wonder you feel a bit peculiar. I am so sorry. You have been a great neighbour which I am sure the family appreciate. Today is being kind to yourself day. Maybe put up Christmas decorations? I might do more of this to cheer myself up as it is just me and mountains of marking. lol.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Yes, poor little thing looked so lost....

You're right, thinking about dieting is only making me want to eat more at the minute...

Just can't get those maddening thoughts out of mind 'What if's?' What if I had knocked or glanced through the window to see why the dog was barking? Would it have made a difference? Bit gutting really.... Her family said it was like she'd just gone to sleep peacefully and they'd only seen her at lunch the same day. Guess it won't have made a difference, but horrible to think of her poor little dog, desperate for attention. I have to stop thinking about it.
Maybe thinking about making the most of a money saving Christmas this year, enjoying the family I still have, should be the priority. I will dig out those decors tomorrow & try and get in the spirit of it...."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

What a shock that must have been! I'm glad it was peaceful for her, I think that's how I'd like to go. Either that or something overdramatic, like spontaneous combustion.
I agree with you completely about Christmas. I'm hosting for my boyfriend and his mum this year and it should be lovely having them over. I'm going to try and thrift a 6 ft tree from somewhere.3 -
Hey Atrixa
It was.... I said the same to family, if it's your time, falling asleep after a lunch with your nearest and dearest, in your own home, is actually a good way to go, if there is such a thing. Just a shock to the rest of the family.
Crimbo! Xmas! Winter Festival! Christmas! Ha! We need to be there for the one's we have with us, and celebrate some love and joy and being together!Especially after this year.
I am swopping out my ridiculously huge tree (must be 6ft!) which I usually struggle to put up and decorate each year, for a more modest and manageable version (gifted from family), so that big one is going to be given to the local charity shop once 31st October and 5th November have gone. My own lot have their own decors so don't need it. Hopefully make a family very happy this Xmas, plus helping a good cause - coming to the Midlands area soon! All part of my de-cluttering, more minimalist, simpler lifestyle. Is Xmas ever minimalist?
So those in Midlandia looking for one should keep their eyes open....
Step one will be braving the spiders in the shed later today to drag all those decors out, sort out the keep or donate piles in readiness. Don't want to take it to charity immediately whilst they are still showing their Halloween then bonfire stuff. Bet they won't have the room for the piles I have yet! Picture my shed stuffed full of it, and imagine the Xmas over-load effect of 'The Grinch' for the amount of it. That image of the 'Who' character with a massive 'gun' spewing out instant tinsel and baubles was the effect I used to go for!
And I have pushed myself to do another survey.....
