Ah, but it depends on the size of the glass :p

I have a normal sized wine glass and will usually have 2 at most (unless MIL is visiting, then it's sweet sherry by the bucket-load - numbs the pain :D)

Mr TM also only has 2 or 3 glasses a night, but his glasses hold at least 1/2 a bottle :naughty::(

Not tried this one either, but very interested....:D

HOMEMADE AMARETTO
tb.giftb.giftb.giftb.giftb.giftb.giftb.gif
2 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
2 c. white granulated sugar
4 c. water
1/2 c. almond extract
1/2 gallon vodka
2 tbsp. glycerine (optional)
Combine first 3 ingredients. Bring to a rolling boil and boil six minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool about 4 hours at room temperature. Add almond extract, vodka and glycerin. Bottle and enjoy. Makes 3/4 gallon.

I have a recipe for Amaretto as well but it's a bit different

4 cups sugar
4 cups water
Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Stir in:
4 cups vodka
4 cups brandy
1 bottle of almond extract
Bottle and let sit in a dark place for 2 to 3 months.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

Try a visit to your local home-brew shop. The one in Kingston has several kits (inc G&T,Whisky & ginger and a very nice southern comfort tastealike.) They often let you taste one they made earlier as well.

Have you tried putting a blackcurrant or other fruit teabag in a glass of vodka? Tastes pretty good. The skittles vodka colour is a lot less yucky if you take out the green ones beore adding to the vodka.

I did read somewhere recently that even the most expensive vodka doesn't cost more than 20p per bottle to make. Someone is making money out of this somewhere ....

Anyone reckon you can make flavoured vodka with root ginger?
It wouldnt work by just sticking a big chunk of ginger in the bottle would it?
I am going to a party on friday and am planning to 'bring a bottle' as requested but obviously on the thrifty side of things (cheap vodka with personalised label) that has a little bit of a kick too it. Reckon it could go down really well as ice cold shots - any suggestions very helpful!! :D
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!

I think that's to do with the trick of trying to freeze the water out of it to make it stronger that you have in mind. Very foolish. Downright dangerous, even.

Filtering is just a way of getting the nasty tasting "leftovers" out of cheap vodka.

Blindness is caused by ingestion of methanol, which is an industrial alcohol and was sometimes added to moonshine, as it smalls and tastes like alcohol.

If you watch those latest Smirnoff vodka adverts, what does it say on the bottle? ..... filtered 10 times. So, there ya go, make your own smirnoff :D
