The thing is, if your made of money you are more likely to do things legitimately and legal.
Its just that I dont trust vets. They seem to charge what they like. And are not punctual either. Imagine this, the puppies appointment for an xray was 12 o'clock. Its now gone 4 o'clock and I rang them and they havent xrayed her yet which is unprofessional because what if we had other things on today. Its just lucky I'm on a day off and got no other appointments or something. If you didn't see anything wrong with it, it most definitely is your attitude - as well as your partner's.Dogs (and other pets) are living creatures.Nobody should do anything remotely illegal regarding dogs (or other pets). You shouldn't just breed them willy-nilly because a 4 year old has a whim to have a new puppy. If you don't trust vets, you really shouldn't have any pet.As for your vet not being punctual - haven't you heard of emergencies? How do you know they're not dealing with an animal that's been run over. Or poisoned?
You can not play god with a life that your own stupidity has created. Would you not take your child to the doctors if you thought there was a problem?4 -

OP, unless the scan comes back as all clear you are going to have to do that or (preferably) trust this vet or a specialised referral practice to fix any problem and pay the not inconsiderable cost.0 -
s was it a scan or an X-ray? These things take a specialist eye to examine,
I must say, my opinion of you has dropped ever lower since the start of this thread, then I gave you the benefit of ignorance but it would seem you just have an axe to grind and really are most unsuited to companion animal ownership.Norn Iron Club member 4735 -
renegadefm said:Well emergencies or not 4 hours late on an appointment seems a bit excessive doesnt it? And the strange thing is, when we rang the last time to see what was taking so long, they acted all strange and said oh has no one rang you to collect it yet, I'm thinking my God how unprofessional. Plus the scan has to be sent off apparently, so we got to wait up to 10 days for results. They didnt tell us that initially. And the weird thing is the puppy since she's come back from the x-ray has been standing and walking better on her back legs. So my theory of we shoukd have just waited a bit longer rather than forking out over 200 pounds would have been ok. Because nothings going to be done for 10 days anyway. By that time the puppy might be walking fine.No it doesn't seem excessive at all.You obviously have little or no experiences of vets.1

Definition of partners (Oxford English Dictionary) : "either of a pair of people engaged together in the same activity"

I may suggest instead of trying to make this poster see what we are all seeing, just go read his other threads
Its never his fault8 -
I took my dog in for an operation at 9am . The operation didn't happen until 5pm as a previous operation turned out to be more complicated than expected and took more time.
This was at a specialist vet.
That vet had ben operating since 9am and was still operating in the evening.
If a specialist needs to study the xray then it would appear everything is not as the vet would be able to read a clear xray.
The pup may be walking better because she has had temporary relief from pain due to the aneasthetic or drugs she was given.
Hopefully, for the pup's sake, things work out okay.
I hope the next time your daughter wants a pup you are more realistic about it.6 -
