Of course he's forgotten about it. He doesnt even bother asking how I'm doing with it.
Had a letter through the door yesterday, some company searching for my nextdoor neighbour who I know is a one for not paying her bills (we got her Avon statements for a while, they were addressed to the wrong house), straight away I know it's someone acting for a DCA. Since she is American and has an unusual name I know this isnt a case of wrong identity but I dont see why if I pay my bills no one else should. What a funny situation.
Anyroad, I wrestled with my consience for a while, made a cuppa and threw the letter in the bin. I've seen what these DCAs have done to some poor people on here and figured Karma is a b!tch.0 -
Had a letter from Virgin increasing the APR to a frankly disgusting 34.9%. OH's Virgin card is thankfully all gone and I owe about £1660 on mine so that's got to go.
Actually, thinking about it, OH's egg card is only 3.9% till November and then the rate is 16% afterwards. Could I do a transfer to my bank account, then use that to pay off Virgin and then I'll pay less that way?0 -
So that's what I did. I tried to get HSBC to do it for me but I failed the credit check to extend my limit. Pah.
Anyway, the money will be in there after the weekend, so I'll call Virgin, get the settlement figure and pay them off. I've already got my vouchers from the points so it will be goodbye and good riddance to that thing.
I've set the payments at 100 a month to egg, but I can overpay as and when anyway.
HSBC's website is still being annoying.0 -
OH is being very odd. He's not talking to me, seems to take no interest in what I say and is out 4 nights a week. Nononono, he's not having an affair. He wouldnt do that. He's avoiding me. Golf this week will be Fri, Sat and Sun. He went out Thursday night to a friends, last night to a friends and he wanted to go out tonight but I had already arranged to go out to see a friend. I dont feel I can ask him why either.
It's my birthday next week and he's not said much about it at all. I've had some trouble at work, I've tried to talk to him about and he's not interested.
He really really resents me because of this DFW stuff, doesnt he?0 -
Oh Dear...
That can't be easy for either of you.
I could not be related to the DFW business at all. It could be that his friends is having problems, your OH helping him out but not wanting to tell you what is happening in his friend's life?
Either way, it can't be nice. hope it improves over the weekend.0 -
sorry to hear you're still not getting support, but at least you are getting some here. Well done for the credit card dance and getting to work for you. Thank goodness the only one i have is for my petrol which i clear each month. I read the horror stories of the rates being increased overnight and thank goodness that i got rid of my huge CC last year.
Good luck with everything, has the boat been mentioned again?0 -
Hmm, he seems to be ok again now.
Man period, I reckon.
Still waiting forr the balance transfer from Egg. Am sooo looking forward to telling Virgin to stick their rip off card where the sun dont shine.0 -
