  • Rarrrrrrrrgh. Work have messed up my pay and I'm still waiting for my cheque for this months incentives. It was supposed to have gone out first class on Thursday but it's still not arrived.

The bank have increased OH's credit limit on his card so I have confiscated it.

After last month's overpayments I now only have £117 left on my barclaycard which I will clear on the 9th.

Have splashed out a bit over the last week or so with the school holidays and all but I've not used credit for it once! Plenty of takeaways, couple of nights out, that kind of thing.

Off to do some more overtime today, bit of a pain working on my Saturday off but the other two supervisors are off sick and I cant turn down the chance of extra cash!

The moggy cost me £59 yesterday as I had her spayed and bought some flea treatment as the vet claims one jumped off her when she was being shaved for her op yesterday. Still, cheaper that looking after kittens and less hassle than having OH moan about the terrible reaction he has to flea bites. The cat sat in the bathroom all last night, sulking and I dont think she is speaking to me today either. Silly thing wont entertain her e-collar so I have to keep checking she's not licking her stitches.

No, I am going out of my mind about my ridiculous husband. In the last week he has spent £150 on his credit card. I think he actually wants to bankrupt us. £40 on a jumper with the golf club emblem on it, £30 on a digital radio that he *had* to have and also at least 2 cash withdrawals.

I've now asked him exactly how much he thinks is reasonable as he still says he cant manage on £40 a week, plus his golf club invoice has come in and they want £160 this month and £95 a month every month until next Feb.

Cheque for my incentives has come so I will have to bank this at some point.

    Thank you.

We had a row by text this morning. He said he cant manage on the money I give him and there's never anything in the fridge but bacon.

Me: There is never anything in the fridge because I am trying to cut down, I cannot spend too much as you spend it! Also, when I ask you if you want anything when I go to Asda you say no!
Him: I dont like brown rice/wholemeal bread/stew/*insert healthy, cheap and filling foodstuff here*, there's nothing in there now, look!
Me: *opens freezer compartment* there's some fish, chips and peas.
Him: I didnt know that was there!
    Me: You didnt even look!
Him: I could get a weeks worth of food for 60 pounds.
Me: Yeah, ok then, I will give you 60 pounds and you can do the shopping.
Him: I dont want to do the shopping!
    Me:

I told him he was being unreasonable, he says he's not. Then he told me to Shut Up, which my Dad always said was the sign someone had lost an argument.

He's gone off to do his guitar lessons now. He can stick the money he earns from that up his bum for all I care. I'm not sleeping to well and I am knackered.

I've finally confiscated his HSBC gold card (well, to be fair, he gave it up voluntarily) and to say thankyou I've cashed in all of our Virgin credit card points and used the 9 pounds he was in credit (how did that happen?!) to get 50 pounds worth of Cafe Rouge vouchers to treat us to a nice meal for my birthday in a couple of week's time. He's also said he wants to take me to Alton Towers (with no kids!) for that day too. We'll be using the Sky 2for1 vouchers.

Back to 150 cash a week again, of which, after shopping, petrol and his spends I have just over 30 left.
  • I have read this whole post and just want to say I tihnk you are fab. you have inspired me to go and sort out my bank account and my phone.

really impressive lowering of debts even when you hubby is such a pain with the spending.

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Thank you!

His Virgin card is now clear and he's going to cancel it next weekend (as soon as we get the vouchers for our romantic meal for two!) . At the minute the credit limit is 7400 and I'll be very happy when that is taken away from us.

One this month is done I will post a new SOA. :A
