News Just In...
DH has had his LBM.0 -
Yep, it's true.
He text me this morning to say I've had a letter from MBNA threatening to send my Virgin account to a debt collector for about £20 that I missed off last month's payment. I text him back and said they could go forth and multiply and I wasnt bothered.
He text back that he *is* bothered and hates paying out his wages to CC companies. He wants us to ask for the CCAs on all of them.
Is this a good idea?0 -
Decided against CCAs. Cant be bothered to get chased around for 6 years avoiding cleaning up the mess we are in.
He wants to get a loan, but I know with the missed payments on the cards we wont get one. I've said we have to snowball but he says he doesnt have the self-discipline to refrain from ever using his cards. I've suggested giving the cards to me, his me, My mum, putting it in the freezer, cutting it up but he says he cant do it. I've told him he has to.
Made him call and drop the limit on his Virgin card to £500 from £8200 today, he only owes £50 on it and once that is gone we will get rid.
Have noticed a couple of cards have PPI on that we didnt ask for? Need to reclaim that and get on with claiming back CC late payment charges.
Am feeling very down about all this. I know I fell off the DFW wagon and am feeling massively lost and a little unsupported.0 -
Im not surprised MM you have had a lot to deal with. Although he now realises things are really tight, it seems he wants the easy way out and not take responsibility by saying he cant be trusted. Stand your ground with him about giving up the cards.
You are doing a great job especially with the extra work hours. Hopefully the PPI and charges reclaims will help.
You do sound a bit run down any chance of him babysitting whilst you get some me time? Set a small budget maybe for a girls night in, cinema?:j0 -
You know what? I am absolutely exhausted. I got cross this morning because DS1 has grown out of his school clothes already. I know he's 12 and it will happen but I was so tired and so fed up. If I could have come home last night (I worked til 8) and just got in, had a bath and a glass of something and kissed the kids goodnight I would have been fine, but I had to load the washing machine, do all the washing up from their dinner, get all the stuff ready for the morning and make three loads of lunches. Then I went to bed. And again I'm up at 6.50, get both kids ready and off to school then to work. Then to MILs to get DS1 at 5, then 8 miles to get DS2, then Matalan for more school uniform, then home, put the vacuum and a duster round, wash up from DH's cooking he will do when I am out then get them sorted for the next morning, then DH will be home at 9. By then I've had it. I've got 3 days holiday left to take before April. I'm going to book them today to see if I can get some rest. I doubt it. No one ever said it was going to be easy, but I never thought it would be this hard.0

I have ended up being signed off for a few weeks through sheer stress of work, home, family and debt etc so I know how you are feeling. I was snapping at everyone and had no concentration. I hope you are not as bad as that but I do think the holiday sounds like a great idea. You need to recharge your batteries. Just do the essentials the rest can wait.:j0

hi, MM it's small wonder if you are tired and snappy with a day like you've described, and if that's everyday then even more reason to be exhausted.
sorry your OH is being obstructive, you've got the right idea though, seems like his light bulb is on the blink at the moment.0 -
