Hello,
I have applied for a bounce back loan using my personal hsbc bank account (as i was trading in 2018/19 i didnt need a feeder account).
I was accepted after 2 weeks, got the echo sign documents, i signed them and the following day i got a strange e-mail from hsbc:
————————-
“Your Bounce Back Loan applicationWe’re sorry it’s taken longer than we would have liked to write to you about your Bounce Back Loan application you submitted in May. We’ve identified some complexities in your application which contributed to the delay and we need to explain these and outline what you need to do next.As part of the application process, you indicated you were a HSBC Commercial Banking customer and you provided a sort code and account number to support this. We’ve reviewed this information against our records and unfortunately, you’ve provided incorrect information. As we’re unable to confirm your bank account information, we won’t be able to proceed with your Bounce Back Loan application.Action requiredIf you still require a Bounce Back Loan and you’re an existing HSBC Commercial Banking customer, please go to our online portal to complete a new application using the correct bank account details. We appreciate that due to the time since you first applied you may have already applied with the correct details. If you’ve already reapplied, please confirm below.”

They are basically saying that i’ve provided incorrect sort code and account number. I double checked my application and echo signed documents and all details are correct.
I still see the direct debit opened in my hsbc personal account for the bounce back loan.
If there was a problem with my application, i guess they were canceling the direct debit?
Should I wait to see if I receive the money or I should apply again?
Thank you!0 -

You have supplied an incorrect sort code and account number, because they are not for a business account, they will cancel the direct debit, it will just take a while to show.
You will not receive the money, they have cancelled your application as they are unable to and will never be able to verify those account details as a business bank account.
You will need to reapply, however you will either need to open a feeder account, or a business account, it may be best to open a proper business account.0 -

On their website i used this option when i applied:
” If you are applying for a Bounce Back Loan and you have a personal current account used for your Sole Trader business with HSBC, and your business was established on or before 5 April 2019, you will be asked to supply your account number and sort code. We will require you to provide and attach a scanned copy of your 2018/19 self-assessment tax return with this application form. We may also ask for additional information to verify you as a business customer.”
So basically what bank details i should have used? Business bank details from a different bank?0 -
9 days since I signed the direct debit etc - no sign of funds - absolutely crossing my fingers it arrives before the end of the month as we have unfurloughed staff this month so salaries to pay - am going to contact them today0

Hi guys.
Just to update, I finally got the funds on Friday last week. it was about late night time.
I applied BBLS on 26th May, signed Echosign 9th June, got funds on 19th. ( I am a HSBC business bank account holder)
I was very upset during the process as I saw a lot of people could not get BBLS immediately. Comparing to other banks such as Natwest or Barclays, it took much longer time. But at the end, it finally comes to your bank account anyway.0 -

OK I have been following this thread and Didn't want to post until I had a result. I'm a HSBC Business customer. No overdraft and kept my account in check with nothing outstanding. Applied originally for the CBILS end April, was just about to sign when BBLS was announced and Relationship Manager advised me to switch to that and cancel CBILS.
This was done 5th May, received mail saying expect echosign docs. Nothing came through, chased up over a few weeks and advised to reapply on 27th May. Did that and received confirmation again. Echosign docs arrived 4th June signed and returned. Received mail saying all was signed with copy of the agreement on 5th June.
Nothing came through regarding funds, chased, chased and chased again.
Eventually on 22nd June (Yesterday) made a complaint and mailed ian.stuart@hsbc.com received a reply from complaints saying they would respond within 3 days.
Today 23rd June another set of echosign docs arrive. Signed and returned. Within 2 hours funds were there.
Don't know if it was the mail or coincidence, but its now done for me.
Hope everyone else gets sorted soon 🙏2
